In other markets (USA,UK & Europe) overvalued IPOs rarely occur, bcoz
all the IPOs comes through underwriter (mandatory rule). So, underwriters always value
the shares on fundamentals & ensure the decent PE ratio at discount to the market.

In Sri Lanka IPOs are not based on fundamentals & trying to satisfy the corporate sector.
So, IPO prices are not reflect true value.

At the end all the market participants will be discourage

I just find it interesting that no one complains or comments on IPO's that zoom way past the listing price like many have done in the past. The market in the end is only a reflection of the collective price action from all its players. As we have seen in the last few weeks, irrespective of how hard some individuals have tried they have not been able to move the share price in the direction they wanted. There is only that much manipulation that can be done, in the end prices will come to what true buyers and sellers believe a company is really worth.

Lets stop moaning about manipulators and wanting the CSE or the government to kiss the hurt better when we end up on the losing side of a trade. If we don't say anything when the price goes unreasonably high when we own shares, then we should do the same when the opposite happens. I am tired of all the moaning and wanting someone to make the losses go away. The decision to buy or sell is ours alone, we all need to put our big boy pants on and take responsibility for our actions. If you can't, then investing in shares is probably not for you.

Sorry also wanted to add that the history of markets all over the world have from time to time gone through cycles of IPO's being listed at absurdly high prices like during the whole Dotcom boom where IPO's of companies with no revenues and no business were listed at extraordinary prices at IPO's that made a select group of lucky individuals rich. Its absurd to suggest that this is something specific to the CSE.
