Sometimes there has been complaints that posts getting deleted that shouldn't been deleted. I guess if you delete a post there's not track of it that it ever existed. There are many moderators. There could be many people who want to influence what to publish or not to publish.
So instead of deleting a post it would be nice if they can be preserved so that the other fellow moderators can see what was removed. An audit. If delete means purge, it would be much better if the posts move into a separate chamber which only the moderators have read access. That is removing delete rights from the moderators and let them move the posts to a separate private area. This will stop them going public as well as let fellow moderators see what was deleted. This won't help if the site owner does something bad. "With great power comes great responsibility."
