Vikey.
Do not worry.
The sales are tiny compared to what they have.
I recall such moves happened in 2010 before huge run.

Yes this will move like a rocket from tomorrow on-words. Because CFLB owns 65% of holding of COLO.

Won't you recommend this counter is a good one? Most of our forum members recommended CFLB as a good counter. If you have more information please be kind enough to share with us too. Very Happy

Yes absolutely. However I know a few things about that Family. Let’s just say SDRA taking over great. See how lite mull colo turned around. He is also a big investor in cse. So he appreciates good governance transparency dividends professional management & capital gains for minority shareholders.

Why i am saying CFLB is a hidden gem
·         40 billion turnover company
·         They have about 40 subsidiaries belong to CFLB
·         It's land bank in heart of Colombo
·         investment in Quoted  and  non Quoted Companies

2019
"High-interest rates, high taxes, subdued demand as a result of low consumer spending, and weak commodity prices have all had an impact on the performance of the Group." Chairman saying in 2019 Annual report.
2020
But in this year.(2020) Interest rate reduced to all time low.
·         interest expenses  will reduce sharply resulting higher profit in this year
·         Vat reduced and consumer spending recovering higher income from all sectors.

In 2019
" The steep decline in tea prices witnessed at the Colombo Auction as well as continued weakness in the global
the market for Natural Rubber has seen both the Group’s Plantation companies run at a significant loss."
In 2020
Good Tea and Rubber prices both have a greater impact on their plantation losses to reduce and come to come profitability

They have about 40 subsidiaries belong to CFLB (page 83 of annual report 2019) Some had greater run recently reflecting their share price to increase due to either reducing their losses or recording healthy profits
I am only  giving few of them here.
Subsidiary Effective holding by CFLB2019 march price 2020 oct. 2 pricePRICE CHANGE %
CWM38%3645.0025%
KOTA61%58.1062%
LDEV47.3%2.25.60154%
LITE31%917.1090%
COLO65%5080.0060%
YORK50%60110.0083%
MARA 1.202.3091%
Average growth %80%

 2019 march price 2020 oct. 2 pricePRICE CHANGE %
CFLBRs 9.50Rs 13.9046

Comparing the above figure we can clearly see that the price increase of its subsidiaries are not reflected in CFLB share price. some of its subsidiaries have increased there prices over 80% ( LDEV 154%, LITE 90%). Therefore we can see that CFLB share price has a clear upward revision to come to its fair value. Not only that subsidiaries like COLO are still greatly undervalued compare to their peers like CINV and GUAR.

Sunquick Lanka (Private) Limited
C.W. Makie PLC has a 49% interest in Sunquick Lanka (Private) Limited, a joint  venture formed for the purpose of manufacturing, processing, and marketing Co-Ro’s products in the form of concentrates and ready to drink (RTD) products marketed under the’Sunquick’ brand.

NAV of CFLB 22.73 (on June 2020). Is a 40 billion turnover company and just trading its shares for 13.90 Rs.  compare to 2-3 billion some companies trading their shares in similar range. In addition to all these, it has a great company to cope with the current agriculture-related businesses. It is LANKEM CEYLON PLC. it has considerable share in agric product segments like agrochemicals and plantations.
Other two strength of this company include its land bank in the heart of Colombo and suburbs and the investment portfolio of quoted and non quoted companies.  page 77- page 99 of Annual report 2019)

I read the Posts of WS & BB & PAT on TEC.  They say cflb is not a trading share in this market. I feel so sad for those who sell @ 16. They should do a thorough analysis & get the real value. All I can say is even @ 50 it represents “ kunu kolleta deema “.

Dear Friends
I have a collection of CFLB 35,000 nos of shares which I have bought in last month. Most of guys are in promising of a boost with this share in coming days.
But I need to clarify this,
If I'm not mistaken, considerable no of shares have been sold at 12.50 - 14.90 by directors or Related party after August. What's the logic behind this? If Directors have a trust of a price appreciation why they sold? Yesterday also seen a price drop.

Is it  better to sell or hold ???
Appreciate all your honest ideas or any confirmed background information if you have.. Thanks

Nav as per QR June is 23. Investment Properties as per VALUE estimate adds 22 (5,000/225). If we assume share portfolio doubles that adds further 5(1200/225). Revised nav 50. Assume pbv of 1.5. So the potential is clear especially as earnings recovery will keep adding to nav & group Investment Properties (Alchemist - 206p on Union Place should be valued at more than 15mn/perch) & Equity PF can post bigger gains.

This is perfect BB. We all encouraged by your findings. I think we all can move ahead with this counter now. Here on wards the journey is easy and comfortable.
So I think this is useful for us to do analysis. GL

yes, I appreciate BB's findings in this regard. Regarding directors selling. The last selling was on Oct 2 before the corona dip when the price appreciates he has sold small quantity. I don't know his intention may be personal.nothing to worry I think. But when the reports out in comming days we can see the finacial progress of CFLB.

Let the directors finish playing their games. What price did you enter? Assuming you entered at 13..... average if price falls to 10.50... this happened several times over last few weeks. If you can then hold this for 1yr price will be going up towards 17 as per the technicals and fundamentals. You can see this is a comprehensive post put on TEC forum and linked in a post above. Don’t be in a hurry to sell at a loss. I hold 20k shares bought at 13.

As you said read cseguide & on TEC WS & BB. Just think should a diversified nearly 40BN TO group with a huge consumer segment & the huge drag of plantations (now become rocket) have market capitalization of 4.5 Bn even at price of 20. Think dear friend. CWM last Q net up 78%.
