Browns Investments Limited, which initiated trading today, topped the turnover list with a contribution of 18.7%. The counter opened at LKR5.10 and recorded an intra-day high of LKR5.30. However, with some selling pressure rising with several mid-sized blocks coming up for sale on the counter at LKR5.0; the counter lost grounds to close at LKR4.80 (4% dip from the IPO price).
Institutional interest was evident in Central Finance with the counter registering a parcel of 175k shares at LKR1,450.0. Softlogic Holdings also encountered a block of 1 mn shares being transacted at LKR23.70 whilst institutional interest continued in John Keells Holdings with the counter witnessing a crossing of 123.2k shares at LKR185.0. Retail interest was evident in Swarnamahal Finance whilst mixed investor interest continued in Piramal Glass. Dialog Axiata also saw a crossing amounting to 2.5 mn shares at LKR8.0 whilst buying interest was evident in Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings.
