Well when the market down most of the different people say different reasons, some say regulators, another group say its brokers, another set say its some Individual with enough money bring down the market.

Officially no changes in the regulations from those days to date, now market is moving up and most of them are happy including myself, because everybody want to make profits here.

If the market going up at a steady speed with the release of financial results and the external events then there is no issue at all, but IF its started to come down. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE THIS TIME?

i will accept all kind of arguments specially against me

The SEC is totally responsible for the mess.Now the market is moving only because of the positive sentiment generated by the SEC/Broker meeting.
I hope SEC can realize the damage they have done and make necessary changes, Otherwise market would resume sliding from next week.

The positive sentiment is still a rumor only, and if any thing didn't materialized then buyers will blame the brokers, and brokers in turn will say regulators hinted us about the positive news and they didn't implement it.

Whether u make the profit or loss still all the levies payable

Bla Bla Bla.... Damn....., I do not want SEC to change any rules at the moment & better, if amending the T+5 to T+3 as it was for decades...!

The only & The Greatest error SEC did since last JUNE 2010 was amending the Debt clearing of balance 50% into 25% each into 2 splits & rescheduling it for SEP & DEC 2011.

Mrs. Sugathadasa pls count me as one of investors standing for your strict rules since its implementation to date...! Go ahead Madam go ahead you are correct...Stock market do not means a place to Gamble & its not a spot in LAS VEGAS.... I expect few more good rules to be implemented sooner than later...

such as a valve theory ( this could be introduced as one way movement or minimum cap, by evaluating a fair market value of a particular stock through its last financial reports and put up a cap price to ban the share sold below that price which its really worth ) then we can suggest a max cap also for rallies based on same theory of last reported eps x pe = fair value + 30% or 40% some thing for future growth etc etc and put a Max cap for stocks for a period of 3 months still the next Q reports to be published...!

anyway Madam, keep the imposed rules with untouched....for the sake of SL Economy...! Very Happy

Don't mistake settlement is T+3 not T+5
T+5 is the debt clearance day.

market is a composition of all segments: long term investors, daty traders, speculators, gamblers
u can not say that one segment is good and the other bad.
That is y the SEC is there. to regulate the market so that no one group can have an undue advantage over the other and manipulate the market .

rules to curtail excessive credit is not bad.
what is wrong with is the way it was implemented.

good things must be done in the right manner and at appropriate time.
There are lot of things that SEc shd do to hv a transparent orderly market, which they r not doing.
let them take to task the specific errant brokers and manipulators and insider traders.
r they doing it?

instead they just penalise the entire market.
it is the easy way out for them.
what hv they done abt the big guys who manipulate the market, break or bend rules
and openly and unashamedly come up with absurd reasons to justify themselves at public forums.

You can see what broker rumors can do in the last couple of days. Imagine you relax the rules of normal stock markets. Sri Lankans and Bangladesh people are the same..

Let's re-examine the facts.

1) the SEC hasn't announced any credit rules changes yet.
2) The old credit rules are still in place.
3) Brokers were saying market was declining because of credit restrictions.
4) The market went up by more than 5% over the past three days.
5) because old rules are still in place, buyers are paying cash.

Statements 3 and 5 are mutually exclusive and cannot be true at the same time.

Buyers are not paying cash.
They have sold out during the past few days at a loss and now are buying back, often at a higher price,
trying to recoup their losses as they anticipate the mkt to go up further if the credit rules are relaxed.
This cycle is also mostly on credit . (upto T+5 days)
It will be the old story once again.

The greatest favour we got from SEC is imposing strict rules to protect the Stock market from ......(unsuitable word removed) like you , who thinks stocks should always move up and no point on financial fundamentals...

THE SEC RULINGS CONVERTED THE CSE IN TO CASINO.JUST SEE THE TRADING PATTERN SINCE THE NEW SEC TOOK OVER.ALL ARE "ANNA PENNA" TRADES".LONG TERM INVESTORS ARE LEAVING IN DISGUST .SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO MPI FROM THE DATE THEY TOOK OVER THE ADMINISTRATION.
I ALSO LEFT MY LONG TERM STOCKS AND NOW READY TO DO GAMBLING BECAUSE WITH SEC RULING NEW CANNOT DO ANY OTHER THING IN THE MARKET.

CSE HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO CASINO.'T +5 GAMBLING ONLY" .JUST ANALYZE THE TRADING PATTERNS SINCE THE ADMINISTRATION CHANGED.

This sudden uptrend is no doubt too fast. If the people who uplifted the investor expectations don't deliver those in next few days, it will be a disaster.
Two things the regulators can do in this situation as per my understanding,
1. If this is only a rumor which is not going to happen, officially notify without just waiting. This will bring down the market but will avoid the possible bigger damage of denying after waiting few more days.
2. Think about the present situation and deliver the expectations in most appropriate way by considering investor ground situation and future of CSE.

No need for any pills of that kind...and pls note that I'm not a day trader or a short term trader...even at the CSE was on its worst (just few days back) I was sitting on a GREEN Portfolio with a good unrealized profits..and therefore no need to worry on buying & selling on last two days including today...!

I was pointing at traders who think last few days upward trend was a beginning a new era & just going on a buying spree...Finally will become victims of losing hard earn wealth....! they are the same PPL who followed TAFL, GRAN, BFL, CSF, PAP, CLND, PMB...& Illiquid rallies & finally crying for their money & pointing finger at SEC for the foolish things done by themselves....!

Cheers for rallies hunters , HNWIs need you at cse to dump their rubbish at higher prices...!

sudden massive increase of ASI shows the importance of the credit in the market. I think brokers wanted to show it.
CSE is highly sensitive to credit related news but not for the company fundementals or other economic conditions in the country.
