Watch ATL...Amana Bank opens operations this Monday... Increased business revenue to ATL from Amana Bank..... as ATL is the only Islamic insurer (Takaful) in Sri Lanka and Amana Bank's risks can be covered only by ATL... I would expect it's share prices to go up and also ATL profitability to increase...

But don't you think it is too much liquid now. And how about the financial of ATL in 2010 and the first quarter of this year ?

I will not think ATL will play major changers quickly. still it has to recover more loss and not yet start to make profit from the business

this may rise,but will comedown later,this is just like SEMB nature,SEMB go up and eventually come back to 2.20 level,so same applied to ATL

Amana Takaful (ATL.N) and Amana Bank are two different entities and they don't have any connection at all. So there won't be any fundamental reason for ATL.N to go up when Amana Bank starts operation.
But since most of the people think that they are interconnected share price can shoot up. But be careful if you are buying for this reason.

That is what I am also thinking of. And further I feel ATL need much recovery before any logical shoot up

I know they are two different entities. However at present Amana Bank and Amana Investments together own approximately 60% of ATL shares. Further Amana Bank operates on Islamic Shariah principles and therefore every facility/loan/mortgage given by Amana Bank has to be covered by an Islamic Insurance/Takaful company like ATL under shariah principles. Since there are no other Takaful companies in Sri Lanka all these Insurance business has to come their subsidiary which is ATL.

Further more business will come to ATL similar to what HNB Assurance is experiencing from their parent company HNB.

Further the IBSL (Insurance Regulator) has given Insurance companies a wider variety of investment opportunities after April 1st 2011 by changing the laws regarding to investments by Insurance companies. Before this regulation change ATL profitability was affected due to limited Shariah compliant investment avenues. However this change in regulation will vastly help ATL. Thus helping their proftability immensely.

Hi Zaiban, what was the change that you were expecting to happen today? ATL closed at the same price with a moderate turn-over today and I cannot see anything specal so far apart from that 150 million shares crossing at Rs. 2 that took place last week.

What is that sudden change that you are expecting and for what reasons?
