Today morning I saw that NYSE has gone through one of the worst day in the history. DOW has fell 512 points, 4.3%. This is not like CSE falling 4.3%. NYSE is one of the largest stock market in the world and a fall like this will wipe out billions of dollars!

When I looked other markets in Europe and Asia, most of them have fell more than 3%.

So, I made myself prepare for a 2-3% fall in the CSE.

The CSE started with a negative note and it kept on falling. I was bit happy cos my own prediction was going to come true. I saw ASI going down about 70 points. But suddenly, ASI started to move up, than going down. And finally ASI fell only 58.4 point, 0.84% not 2-3%.

I was disappointing because I wanted it to comedown to 6500 level.

So I started to think why it didn't fall?

When I was thinking, old saying came in to my mind "pedure inna kena wetenne ne!" (person who sleeps on a mat will not fall"

you are really selfish person to me. i can easily understand by reading this. you must undersatnd one thing. CSE not like NYSE, NYSE down because of their debt crisis. CSE down by force of SEC & non practical rules. No this is an artificial down to me.

I got my hard earned money in CSE, so I don't want it fall at all.

Seems like you didn't get what I was trying to say. suja has got it right.

CSE is insignificantly so small and manipulated.
If I remember correctly CSE is the size of 0.01% Bombay stock exchange. Then compare that with NYSE. It's nothing. It is easy to control because there's nothing much in it. CSE is not going down naturally because SEC is in away controlling it. Otherwise if you let it move up and down naturally I think it should go down by about 1000 points. In the recent times credit issue is keeping the CSE up.

The ASI has declined by 14% from this year's peak (in February). The sell-off has been relatively gradual and orderly - caused more by credit issues than matters relating to Sri Lanka's fundamentals.

As an economy, we are somewhat insulated from the USA's and Europe's financial problems; of course, exporters to these countries would be adversely impacted.

Interestingly, even after yesterday's tumble, the S&P 500 Index has dropped by only 12.4% from its 2011 peak.

Yes! no credit, 100% invested.

I think these days are very rare days we can find.

Overall PER is around 20-21. Companies are coming up with good results. Tax cuts for companies. ... list goes on.

So, everything is in the positive side to make the market up. (except Mrs SEC)

I don't want to jump in to running buses. So, I have invested 100% and waiting.....

I think credit issue is largely over,.... time to concentrate on CSE. ......Next week onwards CSE may start a steady and solid upward growth ....without having to worry about all those issues..... Smile Very Happy

CSE nothing when compared with NYSE. Roughly our market size is 2400 billion rupees . Apple company has $76 billion in cash (i.e 76*110 billion rupees ) one US company. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424053111903885604576488610061220534.html?mod=WSJAsia_hpp_LEFTTopStories

I also agree with Genting and I have also being investing during the last few weeks too. The truth is this is a buying opportunity for me and don’t want to let it go. I am a long term investor and there are a few growth sectors and I see lots of fundamentally strong shares which are undervalued at unbelievable discounted prices. And these counters will yield good results in the next 12 to18 months.
