“Heladiv Infinity” a growing chain of tea shops in China which only use pure Ceylon tea to serve its customers is planning to open its 100th outlet by the year 2014. Rohan Fernando Chairman of the HVA Foods Limited of Sri Lanka, the originator and owner of the “Heladiv Infinity” brand says, currently 22 outlets are being operated in China.
It is in this backdrop; President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is at present touring China has made a visit to the “Heladiv Infinity” firm. Fernando says, the visit which has been coordinated by the HVA Foods Limited was an attempt to enlighten the President on the potential the Chinese market has for Ceylon Tea.
Fernando also added that the Infinity tea shops in China run under a franchise system. A Chinese firm formed under the name of “Beijing Pure Ceylon Tea Company” is running the “Heladiv Infinity” outlets in China. “Heladiv Infinity” teas are targeted at the high end Chinese consumers and sold at a higher price.
