Hi rm

better to hold LCEY and group are on upward track now... It will easily touch Rs.500

LCEY annualized EPS Rs.18.60 and NAV Rs. 92.55, last two quarters would be the most earning contributed from Maha paddy season. Hence there would be possibility the annualized EPS would hit more than Rs.30 and NAV would hit Rs.150 level. Further LANKEM diversifies it business to chemical, agro chemicals, consumer product, leisure, construction, plantation and poultry. Hence there will be more chances to get more value addition in its investment portfolio.

Hence the contributed value for LCEY share from marketable value of investments in listed subsidiary companies is (4,965Mn/24Mn) is Rs.206.

With this huge investment portfolio and attractive 3rd quarter results generated from MAHA paddy season It would easily reach Rs.500 very soon......

Funny CFLB dropped to 155 couple of months back while many blue chips remained steady. I bought some at 160. Now it's PE ratio is over 30 I think.
What I see is that just because CFLB owns 20, 30, 40% shares of other companies is it correct to add up the earnings of those companies as CFLB's? For that to happen even in proportion, other companies should either pay a huge dividend (not likely, because they have their own things to take care of) or CFLB has to sell off the shares to get a one-time gain.
For me CFLB looks like a investment trust not a conglomerate.

Also why did CFLB, LCEY dropped to 155, 190s in December while other good companies stood steady? They say mostly companies hold them and there's little free float. But in that case they shouldn't fluctuate so low like that at all.

Hi Wis

every thing depend on the mkt sentiments and investors perception, In November and December most of the companies were on down ward trend. As u said LCEY and CFLB, whose shares on free float is very much less. That may be the reason for the price drop, since the retailer will not wait to hold the share. they will satisfy with minimum return.. But intelligent investors will hold these types of sound stock to get the MAX return..

Do more study before investing

Happy Trading...

If I try to explain personal exposure and experience with LCEY and CFLB, Yes, That is true, that there was a drop in CFLB share prices to 150 we kept them intact without selling at a loss in Dec, at the moment it is still on an upward trend I just stay with the same shares, CFLB and LCEY were in our portfolio for a long period. Share prices gradually climb up and there is no indication of any drop in value yet, we keep them as part of our portfolio as usual.

Wish you all the best for a bright future.

In the mean time it is always important to reveal and introduce our interests and shares then it is very easy to have open discussions.

Disclosure

I would like to give an introduction by revealing following STOX in the portfolio.

CFLB EPS for the two quarters ending 30/09/2010 was 8.82, however, one cannot simple double this to yield an annualized EPS of 17.64 since the Q4 of 2010 will show a considerable increase in profits. Just have a look at what exactly their holding structure is: https://servimg.com/view/16108723/3 (Kudos to Quibit for compiling this)

If we apply average profit increases that we have seen in recently released results, it is safe to assume that CFLB will yield an annualized EPS of at least 30-35, if not considerably more. Personally I expect them to announce an EPS of 20+ for the last quarter alone. Assuming the former (not the latter), a share price of 800-1000 is very realistic and I presume it will hit this (with a few ups and downs along the way) latest with their Q1 2011 results. This is not an advice, just my opinion. We will know for sure within a week or two when their results are out.

KDs and Gambler

Well just as knowledge has said CFLB EPS for the first 6 months is 8.82 .Since CFLb has a low free float of 36 Million shares any up surge in profit results in the EPS moving up considerably. When you look at Segment revenue it has doubled from 09 t0 10 with all their business segments doing extremely well . Out of the 11 segments only two are making losses which are Construction and Hotels (we all know how these two segments are set to boom). I to feel that that their anualised EPS Should settle between 30 and 35 . Even if you take the PE at 20 well the results will speak for themselves and the share should trade between 600 and 700 ...don't for get that they have a massive land bank in fort that has not been revalued in years so they are sitting on a massive Land bank. PER for growth sectors are usually higher as people are willing to pay more for such shares. The other factor is that only 5 million plus shares are actively traded as 85% share holding is with the top 20 share holders of the firm . If CFLB has to move forward another thing they might do is offer a rights issue or script issue to increase the Free float which at the moment really doesn't do justice to it's rising status. they will need to increase it sooner rather than later. an estimate is that
they will top one billion in profits in the last two quarters with the 3rd quarter expected to do around 700 million if their anualised profit tops 1.5billion then we are looking at an EPs of around 40 . All depends on this quarters results.

However the risks would be that like any company with low liquidity the share price can come down as much if there is any negativity with regard to the share i.e BFL when it drops it drops but it consolidates and rises.

The bull signals are there FOR CFLB and its main group companies....lets see when the latest quarter results are out.

It seems CFLB is all about a Land which on revaluation.. ya huge value... But what I see is LCEY is a better choice than CFLB.. As Seyon has shown, the maha paddy season might've brighten the days of LCEY in big time.. Intersting to watch both of these now..

if you look at financials in the group it's pretty clear that LCEY is the bread winner. out of the 425mn CFLB profits this quarter about 300mn come from LCEY so i think it's pretty obvious where your money should be right now.

As for the land revaluation. i mean it's one thing buying CFLB at 320 while speculating about the land revaluation it's another thing buying it at 540 on the same speculative grounds. I've heard that the land is now worth billions but i couldn't find out exactly when this land is.
