Is it possible to download and use DirectFN to get market information without being a member of a stock broker who use this?
Can we get IPO prices and historical trades from it? Does it work on 256mb ram? Please anybody answer these. PLEASE! Question

I don'T KNOW ram. But, I used 4 GB RAM. IT IS OK TO ME.

1st you have to register with a broker & obtain your User ID & Password.
I am doing with ASIA Securities.
Then you can download from site.

Asia trust allow you to access system with 0 p/p.
You should know how to analyze Moving average, boilinger band , MACD .....etc..etc.. .Surf internet and get the knowlage. Otherwise there is no use of having DF login.

Hardware Configuration
Recommended hardware configuration for DirectFN TWS is given below. Please make sure that you have the recommended configuration before you proceed with the installation.

A 2GHz Standard PC (Dual Core recommended) with minimum 1 GB of RAM for Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
-or-
A 2GHz Standard PC (Dual Core recommended) with minimum 2 GB of RAM (32 & 64 bit) for Windows Vista with Service Pack 1, and Windows 7 Professional.
10/100 Network card if it is on a network or 56 kbps modem if it is a standalone PC.
1024 x 768 screen resolution (software can run on higher or lower resolution). For optimum use, we recommend to use a 17” monitor and a minimum 1024 x 768 resolution.

exchange feeds are not free.. you can get it free if you have registered with a brokerage.

you can't use directFN without registering at Brokerage coz,.. system is hosted by broker itself..after registering at brokerage they will give you a user account.you have to use it for logging with relevant brokerage directFN version.
