Dipped Products Plc had 3,536,159 shares ( 4.71% ) of Hayles as at 30.06.2011
At 9.32 3,536,159 shares of Hayles got crossed at 380/=
Further Dean Foster (Pvt) Ltd had 2,922,413 ( 3.9% ) and 2,581,619 & 340,714 at 9.32 & 9.32
if it the actual sales then these 2 companies MIGHT book some capital gains. what do you thing all? this is just an observations, and still not confirmed by way of announcements?

IF sale is confirmed, DIPD stands to make massive capital gain.

Cost of 3.5 mn HAYL shares in DIPD books as at 30/6/11 was 194 million rupees.

At Rs380, that potential sale is worth 1.3 billion rupees

And DIPD has only 60 mn shares in issue, so large EPS impact, even though non-recurring.

Yes if its confirmed this is only a one off transaction, but i thing it will some impact to there Retained Earnings

As of latest financial report DIPD hold 3,536,159 shares. There were 5 crossing of HAYL today at 380/-. In that 5 crossings, one crossing is 3,536,159 shares. Therefor, DIPD must be the seller. So, according to cse.alpha DIPD should make a massive capital gain.

Sri Lanka stocks up, Dhammika Perera ups Hayleys stake
Sep 01, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's stock market closed higher Thursday with big deals by high-net-worth investor Dhammika Perera pushing turnover over eight billion rupees, brokers said.

The main All Share Price Index closed at 6,951.50, up 1.05 percent (72.21 points) while the more liquid Milanka index rose 1.09 percent (67.94 points) to close at 6,301.76, according to stock exchange figures.
Turnover was 8.8 billion rupees.

Dhammika Perera, deputy chairman and biggest single shareholder of Hayleys, increased his stake in the conglomerate further by buying a 4.71 percent stake or 3.5 million shares of Hayleys at 380 rupees each owned by the group's rubber gloves unit Dipped Products.

There were altogether seven crossings or off-market negotiated deals in Hayleys all at 380 rupees a share.

Hayleys closed at 381.40 rupees, up 18.80, with a total of 7.2 million shares traded.

In the other big transaction of the day, Perera sold a 51 percent stake in Amaya Leisure to the Hayleys group for 2.6 billion rupees, a stock exchange filing said.

The transactions of almost 24.5 million Amaya Leisure shares were done in five crossings by Hayleys and its subsidiaries all at 107 rupees a share.

Amaya Leisure manages its subsidiaries, Culture Club Resorts in north-central Dambulla and Kandyan Resorts in the central hills.

The company also acquired The Beach Resorts in Wadduwa on the south coast last year and sold Citrus Leisure, formerly known as Hotel Reefcomber.

Sri Lanka Hayleys buys control of Amaya Leisure
Sep 01, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Hayleys conglomerate has spent 2.6 billion rupees to buy a 51 percent stake in hotel firm Amaya Leisure owned by Hayleys deputy chairman Dhammika Perera, a stock exchange filing said.

The transactions of 24,497,461 Amaya Leisure shares were done in five crossings or off-market private deals by Hayleys and its subsidiaries on the Colombo stock exchange generating a turnover of 2,621,228,327 rupees.
All the shares changed hands at 107 rupees a share.

Hayleys bought 12.79 million shares or a 26.62 percent stake, group firm Dean Foster bought 10.25 million shares or a 21.34 percent stake, Toyo Cushion Lanka bought 816,400 shares or a 1.70 percent stake and Volanka Exports bought 642,900 shares or a 1.34 percent stake.

Yes, I sold it today with a short gain. But now I think I should have hold it for few more days.

What do you think? is DPL a good place to work and for career advancements?what are the advantages and disadvantages?
