Is this adviser Capital Trust by any chance? Bcos their clients are stuck with tons of this stuff based on their advice. Looking for a way out these days. Government is probing in to their operations and I am not sure if that has ended yet.

@smallville - I think now not only CT, but some other brokers are also promoting it.
Me too normally ask the same question when someone is talking about greg. And I have met several people from other brokers.

@gamaya - I think you are talking about the SEC investigation. We'll most probably see a SEC announcement regarding that next week(hopefully)

(Note - This is not a buy/sell recommendation at all. I do hold greg)

GREG is not a good shares to hold it in your portfolio, since some of the information are not transparent. Further we had enough experience with this shares trend. In some good days, this shares started to run based on some info and rumors, we can see the continuous run for 2 or 3 days, then price started to fall and reached to the previous level. there are good people ( so called manipulators) who behind for this run. So if u are smart, u can enter in correct time ( when the rally start or buy at low level and hold it for time to come) and exit @ correct time. This general feature of the GREG, other than this Nothing I found.

These days GREG is on the trend due to SEC clearance and sale of foreign investment , everyone ( specially Capital Trust) look this matter as positive, since this matters will enable the GREG to go for new investment in Sri Lanka and long standing controversy issues come to end with compounding fee Rs.10Mn. This may shoot up the price substantially. Bun Ot won"t last.

The real winner of this trend is selling @ highest price, If you hold this, then you are ??????????????.

My advisor also said there will be some announcements from greg in next week and it will create some movement on greg and other related shares.But i'm not sure about it.

This will influence a very bad effect on GREG. This is not a issue about company. This is some issue about directors. Directors has used company money to earn foreign money only for them self. They not care about company. The bitter truth is, even GREG directors (not GREG) get sorted out this matter with SEC, no one will invest on GREG until directors fired out. How they can guaranteed their directors working for company ?
They have done this on many occasions since they paid big money to the parent company to acquire the silver mine. Only gamblers invest on GREG
But CSE is not a stock market. It is a casino house. Anything could happen to GREG.

Agreed brother, that's why i also mentioned this not a share to hold in our portfolio. But this time, when u analyze the GREG behavior and trend someone interested on for the collection and tried to push up. those are waiting for the announcement from SEC.As per the broker source GREG has paid the fines imposed and the Compounding announcement will come on the SEC website in coming days. As u said this might impact negatively, but, we argue in other way also, the long standing issue has been sort out by just paying the compound fee of 10Mn. So sorted out issue would give the positive sign for the GREG. This would be enough for the expecting run.

The reason my adviser pointed out me is that the investigation against GREG is going to be ended within few days. 10M fine is nothing to a company like GREG and it will affects this share in a positive manner.

does any one know whether they have paid the fine already or are they planning to pay it..
If they have paid it why there is a delay in the so called announcement...
