Banks, as well as financial institutes provide financial information of customers to the outsources. I have many experiences with this illegal scene. Idea

Some unknown finance companies gave telephone calls and said to deposit money at their firm. One time, my good friend working in a very popular finance company(listed in CSE also) told me that there were people in their company who got commissions by introducing new customers to new finance companies. Many times, different advertisements are sent to my home under the name shown in the account.How did they find my address other than that? Smile

If they have your I.D Number, with the help of the GRIP report they can get all the address, for ex home, office etc

You mean CRIB report. Credit Information Bureau. But I thought Information is confidential.

I am not from the banking sector, but i think every registered banks and financial organisations have access to the GRIP report, so whenever some one applied for any facility they will check, so anybody from the banking sector could brief whether banks or fc have access to grip with out our request for any facility

banks are not the only place to get name and address from

I do not think this leak is from CRIP or from banks.

Few weeks after I registered a CDS acct and bought few shares for my daughter she received some dividends and then a letter from a well known NGO asking donations. The name was similar to what we used for CDS acct.

I suspect the name lists are taken from the companies providing Corporate Secretarial Services* with or without the knowledge of the big people there.

* they are the people handling dividends, IPOs , other correspondence behalf of the Companies and they have up to date info of the shareholders of the companies they handle.

Not like in banks, the data are freely available in the hands of girls working in these offices.

another famous place is where you can get the details is from the membership directory of the professional institutions, i normally get the calls and letter soon after the updated directory every year, especially from credit card people

I have some experience from one of Finance company. (Which is listed one). It has sent a SMS to my mobile (I got that connection one week before) a Mini advertizement with their contact No n Name, asking for deposits. I call back that number n nice girlish voice told me that she got mine from one of their head office's officer and when I ask about that she promised me to call back n give that officer's details. But till this time she didn't call me.
