AGM of the VONE will be held @ Ceylon Continental Hotel on 27/09/2011 at 9.30 am. No invitation for a dinner.
Dinner talk could be a rumor.

Sorry for my mistake; it's not RWSL. I saw somewhere that some company is holding their AGM @ Mount Lavinia Hotel, but can't remember now.

Guys im not sure about others but Taj do. They give lunch for two persons. Lunch is at April but cant remember the date which u should hold their shares. Also other companies AGM most of them give lunch.

I am not insulting anyone, getting dinner or gift in a AGM cam be considered as a benefit on investing in stock market. But it seems some just invest for a DINNER... So can we expect those type of people to hold on for their investments when market in bear run>>> can we expect them to not sell when panic selling happens??? Can we expect to invest in companies with good fundamentals??? Can we expect them to not jump into fake rallies and burn their fingers????? These type of investors and their money should be excluded from the market... otherwise it will be a casino...

to someone to earn money , some one has to loose money.. thats how share market works... may be its unfair.. buts thats how it works bro.

Years ago (early 2000's) Nestle used to give a huge packet of their products (Worth over Rs 1000/- then) to all shareholders who came to the shareholders meeting, At that point Nestle shares were around Rs 14/- so on an investment of Rs 1400/- one could get this free packet of their products. Shareholder meetings were held in BMICH and were as crowded as some of the seasonal sales held there now-a-days.

It was a disgrace. People did not stay for the meeting to finish. You would get the packet on entry, so people entered, stayed till the short eats counter was opened and then just walked out mid meeting! One meeting I attended it was shocking to see more than half the audience walk out during the MD's speech

There is an organized set of people who collect proxy forms and visit all these AGMs.

This gang behave like they own the company, eat , collect and take away all the refreshments while the real shareholders who bought thousands of shares kept aside helplessly.

They know nothing about proceedings in the meetings.

Chinwi, what companies STILL give lunch or dinner on AGMs?

I'm sure many might've got upset with the third class behaviour of our ppl who dont know how to have a mean with respect. So the said formalities might've been moved just for a tea party.

I cannot recall any other than the GHLL voucher comes in AR..
