Do you have any idea as to why finance cost has been added to the profit in the last quarter financials?

Since you are doubtful would like to clear your doubts here it self. they got a rights money infusion and and from the additional money they are holding after clearing the massive debts , they would have re invested or given to some one as a finance loan and hence would have earned interest on behalf of that. so the finance cost is a plus figure which shows about the strong liquid cash status of the company. This is what i feel what has happened. I may be completely wrong. Ask for expert opinion before getting any decision rather than using my analysis.

As you stated they have settled significant part of short term loan out of the proceeds of Right Issue.

However, if it was a earning of interest using right proceeds until debt is settled;

* shouldn't it be revealed
* shouldn't it be reported as other income rather than sett of against the finance cost and record as an addition to the profit.

yes what you say has a point. so it can be either that or a reconciliation . this is my imagination only and just probable guesses of what has happened. Just think if they had estimated that due to the huge amount of debt they holding that they have to incur this much of finance cost. since the rights issue has given them money to set off debt before the debt settlement period after settling the debt their would have been a difference between the actual debt and interest paid and estimated. so the reconciliation might be a positive figure. Just guessing possible scenario's. By the way i did not prepare the CSD financial statements.

Please do not waste your time to write these kind of things until you get enough knowledge of financial reporting.
