Brings together a combination of international leading brands across fashion, technology, and home under one roof

Softlogic debuts department store brand Galleria Dsc_0010

By Melissa Perera
Softlogic celebrated the opening of ‘Galleria’ in Colombo last week, its first ever multi-brand mini department store. Targeting the entire family, the products encompass style, quality, and the latest international trends that appeal to all age groups, while carrying a full line-up of international heavy weight fashion and technology brand names. It is located on Havelock Road, Colombo 5, within an area of 8,000 square feet, with ample parking facilities.

Whilst taking the invitees and everyone that was present at the occasion on a tour of the store, Softlogic Holding PLC Chairman/Managing Director Ashok Pathirage said, “Colombo has always been a very successful market for our diverse portfolio of international brand names since their introduction to the local market and we take this opportunity to mark our success with the grand opening of the ‘Galleria’, which will contain all international brands under one roof.”

“The time is ripe for our local consumers to enjoy easy accessibility to choice international brands which are available in other key shopping destinations in the region. We noticed this to be a keen need and a distinct unfulfilled void in the market and Softlogic has, in line with consolidating on our retail strategy, taken this step to introduce the newest addition to our retail business offerings to our customers with the launch of Galleria,” he stated.

“Customers from all over the country have been visiting our respective brand stores but with the opening of Galleria, we are sure to amplify our presence, whilst adding convenience, quality, style and elegance to the list of shoppers’ benefits. We are sure to have every customer walking into our store delighted by the range on offer, from international clothing labels, stylish accessories, a range of trendy international watch brands under the International Watches franchise, perfumes and cosmetics to a grand range of home appliances and state of the art new age consumer electronics by prestigious brand names such as Panasonic, Samsung, Dell and much more via Softlogic Max,” Pathirage added.

The product range is customised to suit local tastes and fashion trends and is pitched at very affordable prices. A superb amalgamation of modern styling welcomes customers, and with new designs and products which come in every month, Galleria will ensure that every time a customer walks in, they will have something new to see.

The store contains a wide selection of branded names such as Levi’s, Nike and Giordano from the branded apparel category. Levi’s and Giordano will carry clothing for ladies and gents including tops, blouses, T-shirts, shirts, pants, jeans, shorts, bags and much more. The Nike range also features an unparalleled sporting collection comprising clothing for professional sportsmen and sportswomen as well as for all sports and fitness enthusiasts, with style inbuilt with utility.

Over a third of the floor area of the mall has been dedicated to world famous state-of-the-art consumer electronics from LED, LCD TVs to air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen appliances, mobile phones and smartphones, notebooks and PCs from electronics giants such as Panasonic, Samsung, Nokia, Dell, Apple, Candy, Kelvinator, Russell Hobbs and Xerox to name but a few.

A watch station, branded ‘International Watches’ has also been set up, offering a wide selection of timeless classic watches from brands such as Fossil, DKNY, Diesel, Skagen and Adidas, while a Parfumarie outlet will offer the latest fragrances and cosmetics.

All consumer electronics products carry the ironclad Softlogic warranty as the company is the authorised distributor for all brands on offer, giving customers security in addition to quality. The staff has been fully trained on details about all the brands and products on offer and are geared to offer customers the best advice on which product would best suit their needs.
