When are we going to see single party in Sri-Lanka?

This time my friend, you will definitely see it this time.

Even with same result for MR as previous election, which was
5,768,090 MR leading UPFA can win majority seats in the parliament.

MY3s 6,217,162 is divided between UNP, JVP, TNA, SF etc
So they don't get the benefit of wining the bonus seat as well.

People in this country still love MR as he was the only president who wanted to defeat terrorism and brought peace to this nation.

Moreover they did not prove any allegations against him. More importantly the allegation about military take over. If it was true they would have prove it by now, they could not prove it as it was just a pure myth which they use to take away the credibility from MR when he peacefully and democratically step down from power. He proved that he was not a dictator and UNP was at shock to see this. People in this country are not fools to believe in every lie they say.

Main problem normal people had with MR government was not corruptions, it was just that they did not care about middle to poor class people that much, namely Basil was mostly responsible for that.

This time they have address that issue. When it comes to political promises MR has the upper hand compared to RW. Been a war hero in middle to poor class peoples mind, they would rather take MRs promises than RWs promises.

We will all see this result by 18th.
This is what Gammanpilla
forecast. He is a Software Engineer from Monash university Aus, a Lawyer and has 1988 A/L all Island best result in commerce. So he is someone who's word has some credibility.
Thank you for answering my question. I already have some idea about policies of JVP, SLFP and UNP. My investment decisions are based on lot of factors including government policies.

If we want to become successful in the stock market we have to have some idea about country politics as well. Because, when policy makers take decisions on vital economic sectors, companies in those sectors either will benefit or will affect negatively. We should analyse at least 30 years of political history. During this period there had been bull markets as well as bear markets.

Finally, it is time to study sectors which are going to outperform markets after election and after forming a government. Market uptrend is strong now.

As both main parties have joined with small parties it should be more than two party governments. Times to time these two parties have ruled the country. Therefore one will be winner. I have a rough estimation. Sometimes JVP can win next election if they can attract masses.

I don’t think anybody will humiliate you. Everybody should have right to choose party they like in a democratic country. These are not permanent things. Again friends and relatives are working for different parties. Same family members are representing two main parties. All politicians are also not same. Some are voting for the person not for the party. Sad to see average people are getting divided due to this political drama.

Despite having so many political systems in the world still they cannot provide 100
% employment, eradicate poverty and eradicate violence etc. World need perfect political system and financial system to solve the problems.

If you go through some replies you will understand the reason for my post above. Some people went to extremes slamming others opinion. I was addressing them and looking forward to address them again after results.

Irrespective of party or color preference I still feel that RW is slightly on top of UPFA considering the trump timely submitted by MS.

However, the strength of ruling party depends on the jumpers from one side to another that is dirty & dishonest politics which our voters not yet fully realized.

Key Takings from Election Result

1. Economic prosperity with good governance should be promoted while ensuring national security, territorial integrity in a unitary state.

2. Self rule concept and traditional homeland concept has been rejected.  TNA defeated in East.

3. Amalgamation of North East rejected.

4. All forms of racism is rejected.

5. Infrastructure development should be given key priority.

6. UNP is not trustworthy to form stand alone government due to their 17 year barbarian rule and they are still under the check of people.

7. For JVP, just blabbering wont do, need to prove performance.

8. Personality worshiping will be rejected in future elections.

9. Policy and principle based politics is preferred by people.

10. Need for all Sri Lankans live as one nation emphasized in a firm way.
