In Malaysia (and Thailand, China ...) several companies are diversifying into glove manufacturing:
https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/luster-hang-seng-latest-jump-rubber-glove-bandwagon
https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/klci-pares-loss-mah-sing-new-darling-investors
Valuations for glove producers are sky-high in Malaysia and this attracts numerous newcomers to this sector. Everybody is flush with money and glove factories in Malaysia are expanding at a record pace.
This means that in some time, there will be an enormous glut in glove manufacturing. Glove making will be much less profitable than today. Once the market realizes this, stocks of glove producers will fall as fast as they have risen.
Dhammika Perera / HAYL should sell DIPD now (or at least its Thailand glove factory) before it is too late.
Don't get carried away by buying DIPD.

Mr Perera needs to buy some dipd.

Hi all,

It is good to different perspective by different people.

What is important to identify is VALIDITY of the point making the increase in supply of gloves, which I don't view as a major challenge to Dipped Products Plc.

Why?

1. High level of expertise and over 40 years of experience of DIPD - Established in 1976, Dipped Products is one of the leading non-medical/medical rubber glove manufacturers in the world, and accounts for a 5% share of the global market. The company’s products now reach 70 countries.

2. Incremental growth for RUBBER GLOVE DEMAND globally - The following factors are likely to contribute to the growth of the medical gloves demand incrementally during next 4-5 years:

1. Emergence of New Pandemic Challenge
2. Ensuring Post Pandemic Safety measures which recommended by medical professional as custom for all individuals globally
3. Progressive Emphasis on Stringent Health Regulations across Europe, USA Regions whom are highly sensitive for COVID19 development
4. Increased Focus on Safety and Hygiene Standards
5. Growth in Surgical Procedures

3. DIPD sales mainly contributed by COVID19 led demand and US/China Trade war which shifted many orders from China to Sri Lanka and Thailand factories.

However, there can be new supplies to any industries with incremental demand. However, what we have to understand is the entry barriers or challenges in producing nitrile gloves and other glove types. The following are the main ones which I listed

1. Because vinyl is an inherently weaker material than latex, it was necessary to develop separate, less stringent requirements for vinyl glove performance certified by standards such as ASTM, 2001a; 2001b; 2000

2. Given the differences in in-use barrier durability, it is evident that health-care personnel should select gloves with the barrier durability appropriate for the task at hand.

SIGNIFICANT EARNINGS GROWTH CONTRIBUTORS OF  "DIPD"

NO NEW ORDERS are taken till 2022 and the cash flow for the financial year is secured well ahead. If you have any GLOVE ORDERS call and see.

Hence, it has taken 40+ years for DIPD to capture 5% market share globally. Therefore, it is not easy as you described for a new player to come and penetrate into a new market.

Concluding Remarks -

DIPD will deliver the INDUSTRY BEST RESULTS during 2020.

DIPD will be one of the COVID19 friendly company other than EXPO.

Both DIPD and EXPO are HARD TO FIND HIGH VALUED DIAMONDS with high levels of earnings potential in upcoming quarters selling 50% discount even at current prices. I would say "LET THE NUMBERS SPEAK in QUARTERLY EARNINGS"

What I suggest is to collect in large buckets at regular intervals which can help you to become wealthy without a doubt.

Good Luck

Hi Wonderer,

Good Point. Yes I also feel this may not for Malaysia producers opening doors to all other competitors to take advantage.

Sad about how Malaysia ill treating the laborer.

I see with the current situation in Sri Lanka as well as the globe, DIPD is the safest stock. All doctors, nurses, and health care staff as well as most people wear gloves and take necessary safety measures to secure from Covid 19. DIPD provides 5% of the demand of the entire world. So try to collect this share. I think it will reach Rs.600/= +++ near future. this is not a junk share. No need to do promotions to push up the demand. They don't accept orders for 2021 as already filled.

Agree. It's fairly valued to say the least. An ordinary QR will trigger a sell. It was a good share couple of months back and it had it's run. It needs a great QR to justify current prices, failing which, will see an adjustment of price.

Only my opinion.

DIPD is catering variety of gloves.. Actually, it was a hidden company due to based on totally exports.

However, DIPD has started an energetic start up from few years back. Further, COVID situation is supporting to accelerate their expansions and market growths. Read onthemoney's coverage about DIPD. He explained it well. I have been studying about DIPD for 3 years. I realized that we as Sri lankans can be proud of this company, because they are catering our rubber crop as a finished products by creating 6 times more value , not only DIPD has an attractive investments like TPL & KVPL. All their businesses are performing well. That's why I am repeatedly highlighting this share. Their Q2 should be very impressive and Q3 & Q4 will be more impressive without a doubt.

Estimated EPS of DIPD for 2020/21 is around Rs.90. Sector PE is >17.
It is very reasonable even DIPD share price is set above Rs.700. I have limited cash and I have allocated 55% for DIPD. Today also, I collected few shares by disposing other shares, bcz Rs.310 is very cheap price and their reports should be released during next few days ...

He co-founded the Quantum Fund which saw returns of 4200% in 10 years. Now, of course, this strategy of putting all your eggs in one basket... but making sure it's the right basket, is not for everyone. It's a high risk, high reward strategy . And Jim acknowledges that.

Thanks Win Win

Last Q EPS is only Rs 10

I think EPS around Rs 15 ok for September and going forward next two quarters

Therefore around Rs 55/60 EPS for the year

Still with PE around 10, its worth Rs 600

Don't put all in, even if it's a straight flush. Wink
don't you think 55% of a PF is quite a large and an unhealthy allocation for a single share? Rolling Eyes

I, not once but twice did that. 100% in one stock. Was not wrong to do it both times. But i did it only when i was confident. It is also not risky as it sounds when you have studied the share and identified the pattern on how it is trading.

I strictly do not advise to practice above strategy but if you are confident about a share, don’t be afraid of what others say. If it is your own decision, if it is your choice, go ahead.

Good Luck !

Thanks all of you !!

I have less than 6,500 shares even it represents 55% of my total portfolio. Try to increase upto 9,000 before Q2.

DIPD should report more than Rs.20 per share as Q2 EPS when compare to Q1 (Q2 Full operation, Increased glove demand, No export barriers, Gvt Support, Results from Expansions)

However, I have noticed that lot of investors are expressing good signals on DIPD. Thank you all your expressions.

Wish whole market will revive and Sri Lanka will regain by overcoming this disease !!

DIPD Estimated EPS for Q2 (Q1 Actual 10.19 with 1.5 months stoppage all operation) should be above Rs.24.
Also, DIPD Estimated EPS for 2020/21 FY is above Rs.90.
DIPD PE is only 3.4. Market PE is above 9 and Sector PE is 16.60.

See clearly.

DIPD share price can be adjusted at least half of industry pE.
So, DIPD Share Price will be Rs.792 at a minimum fair value. Very Safe Investment. Their Whole Businesses (GLOVES & TEA) are performing at over-demanded condition and DIPD has the bargaining power. That's Why DIPD will gain more potential in their businesses and other share can not match with this share .. This time, their TEA businesses will add Rs. 1.2 bn to DIPD profit (Rs.20 EPS)

This is good dividend paying company with a good & energetic management.  Still paid Rs.4. Next 2 Quarters, expect Rs.16 minimum.

Lat time share price increased by Rs.125 (56%) within 3 days.
This time, expect s.185 increase within 3 days.

Safe + High Return Investment

Focus on the Value

DIPD only closed operations in Sri Lanka for only 1 week during March, there were in full production throughout. Their Thailand factory never closed.

This time EPS will improve due to increased capacity and better performance from the Plantation sector as can seen with good results from TPL. And costs should be down since logistics are now mostly back to normal
