ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka has called proposals from banks to borrow one billion US dollar for up to three years, which lenders can provide on a floating or a fixed rate, the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs said.

Interested international and domestic banks should make offers by January 20, 2017, with rates quoted being valid for the next two months.

Banks investment houses should submit proposals in multiples of 50 million US dollars up to a maximum of 1000 million dollars.

Repayments can be in bullet or in tranches. Interest can be paid half yearly.

There was a Book called USE and misuse of Statistcks

You can use Statistics according to your purpose

There was a famous saying

Lamp Post is basically for illumination But Doper use it for some other purpose

Sometimes we also use statistics like Doper use Lamp Post

GDP = C + G + I + NX
C is equal to all private consumption, or consumer spending, in a nation's economy, G is the sum of government spending, I is the sum of all the country's investment, including businesses capital expenditures and NX is the nation's total net exports, calculated as total exports minus total imports (NX = Exports - Imports).

( Exports - Imports)/GDP *100 ---> Y %

this Y value should keep same level or improve this is the key factor.

if MR did correct thing why we are in problem now...

Yes, wrong data. 2005 -2015 no good.
Agreed.
That is why I wrote yahapalas will take it back to pre 2005 era.
The we can live happily.

We will get back to pre 2005 growth rates. I think you will be very happy about it.

Correct production and consumption figures of North and Est not taken into national accounts before 2005

after 2005 statistics relating east were taken in to account After 2009

census Dept was able to take all island statistics

I think main reason for GDP growth is not efficiency of Economic management of Rulers

If you take national statistics there is a direct correlation between rainfall statistics and GDP Growth

After 2005 Rain Fall figures also comparatively good

If you take 2016 Rain Fall figures not satisfactory comparing with previous years GDP also LOW

Even in 2017 GDP will mainly depend on whether conditions

Not much contribution from RULERS They only take benefits of environmental factors

Any developing nations are badly in need of foreign funds in the forms of loans, assistance, grants & aids etc... What kind of assistance received it should be efficiently & effectively utilized in maximizing the future return of the liability already incurred as the interest & the principal are to paid back in the future. If not it would be the havoc for future generation who would bear the unbearable repayment of principal & the debt service cost.
