Plantations MAL and BALA

Both MAL and BALA has shown very good qtr results for March 2012. Whole last 3 qtr results were pretty bad. Suddenly plantations are starting to show good results. What the catch? What made them profitable suddenly in the last qtr? is is pure book manipulation?

Can someone put some light on this.

Dear stoka, Major reason is Rupee depriciation. Coz of Rupee depriciation their export income in Rupee term has gone up.

Most of the plantation companies have been benifitted with Rupee depriciation and naturaly they would report a good EPS this time.

Rupee depreciation cannot affect Jan-March results. During that period Rupee was stable. Depreciation can affect Mar-June results.

I think you can remember Depriciation took place with last budget in November 2011. Before budget it was 108/--109/- and after budget went up to 115/- and from march Rupee depriciated further.Isn't it?
