C M Holdings PLC is an investment holding company. The Company is engaged in property development. The Company operates in three segments: Motor vehicle sales, Repair & maintenance services, and Investment & property holding. The Motor vehicle sales segment is engaged in the sale of motor vehicles. The Repair & maintenance services segment is engaged in providing motor vehicle repair and maintenance services, including sale of spare parts. The Investment & property holding segment is engaged in investment and property holding. The Company, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in repairs and servicing of motor vehicles; asset management, funds and portfolio management and the management of all types of trusts, and import and sale of motor vehicles and spare parts and providing vehicle maintenance services. Its subsidiaries include Carplan Limited, Union Investments (Private) Limited, KIA Motors (Lanka) Limited, Guardian Asset Management Limited and Colonial Motors (Ceylon) Limited.

Hey yall!
There were some buying at 330 and went up within minutes! There seems to be something going on? Good reports this time? But motor sector is affected by the tax increase isn't it? Anyways has anyone done a calculation on COLO?
Just curious!

*The company is a preferred supplier of parts to the Sri Lanka Transport Board for Tata and Ashok Leyland buses.The company also supports Land Rover customers with maintenance, undertaking repairs/restoration of Defenders, hard tops and soft tops and also supplies parts for government institutions, ministries and the armed forces.

*Their fully‐owned subsidiary KIA Motors also imports a range of vehicles such as Jeeps‐Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), motor cars. The 2011 Kia Sportage was recently launched and the company expects high demand for this globally popular vehicle which comes with a three year 100,000 km warranty. From March to date we estimate
nearly 300 to 400 Kia SUVs (Sportage and Sorento) have been contracted for, which would give Colonial Motors a substantial boost to auto revenue which came to only 14% of the FY2010 top line.

*Free hold land of 208 perches at Union Place as well as an investment portfolio of approximately Rs.1 bn at current prices (carried on the balance sheet at Rs.309m) means that the net asset value per share of Rs.125 is significantly understated

*Forecast
Strong pick up in vehicle sales and spare parts sales, reduction in finance costs along with the anticipated increase in dividend income should improve COLO’s revenue and earnings. We estimate the company to post Rs.421m in earnings for FY11, which will correspond to a nine fold earnings growth from the previous year. This will equate to an EPS of Rs. 46.17. The counter is currently trading at Rs.230.00 per share with a forward price multiple of 5x, which is at a discount to the sector multiple of 8.8x.(2010-oct-08)

Besides EPS, it should trade based on it's healthy investments in quoted and unquoted shares.

where did you get this details ? How can I find ? can you give some source please ?

I bought today COLO at 106/= . I am sure its worth it, last moment I got this , I can sell more than 130/= . right issue price also 130/= so it is good .

earnings per share at 31.12.2012 were Rs 30 for the 9 months and only 2.57 for the latest quarter

in the past, before the Rights issue, COLO, was flying, and I made a big profit with it those days, now, not sure.

Their 31.03.2012 Annual Report shows a plus of about 1 billion rupees , I don't think it can be much higher nowadays.
Besides, If the company is so much cash rich, why does it pay such a stingy dividend and why did it issue rights to collect the paltry amount of 200 millions ? I smell a rat here scratch
