I need to add one thing "government connections" with access engineering. as u you all know AEL didn't get paid for the projects they completed during YAHAPALAN ERA these will be corrected under this government as they got healthy connections

Certain projects requires specialization which is the strength of AEL. Furthermore, they are poised to secure substantial proportion of other projects as well.

The Chairman of a private construction company (highest graded contractor for dredging & reclamation works and was also involved in Colombo Katunayake expressway project) is the fifth largest shareholder of AEL. Food for thought!

Govt has clearly spelt out its focus on continuing infrastructure drive which includes LKR 1 Trillion for community water supply projects. AEL is a lead contractor specialized in this field with several successful projects completed to its credit.

Access Group will be expanding by investing in agriculture and livestock industries, Access Engineering Chairman Sumal Perera said last week as part of efforts to bolster Sri Lanka’s food security.

Speaking at the Budget 2021 Forum, organised by Daily FT and the Colombo University MBA Alumni Association, Perera acknowledged that many countries were refocusing on food security, following vulnerabilities created by COVID-19 and that he, too, felt that it was an important endeavour.

“Food security has become a national priority, and as responsible corporates, we must respond. We have already embarked on investing in some Mahaweli land, and we hope to invest in a livestock project with international investment. We may also consider a possible investment in fisheries,” he said at the event.

Perera conceded there was less profit in agricultural and livestock sectors but insisted that he considered it a “national investment”, needed for Sri Lanka’s development.

There are price escalation clauses in construction contracts which covers the risk of contractor which is passed onto the Employer. Hope this will panic-proof those who are selling AEL based on rupee depreciation.
