LOLC becomes third one billion dollar company on CSE IsharaCNanayakkara-1

Dynamic business leader Ishara Nanayakkara-controlled LOLC Holdings PLC today became the third US $ 1 billion company on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), behind John Keells Holdings PLC and Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC.

As at yesterday’s market close, LOLC Holdings’ market capitalization was Rs.198, 277, 200, 000.00, accounting for 5.25 percent of the CSE’s total market cap.

When the Central Bank’s indicative rate of Rs.196.15 per a US dollar is applied, the market cap of LOLC Holdings amounts to US $ 1.01 billion.

LOLC Holdings share yesterday closed at Rs.417.25, up by Rs.36 or 9.44 percent. The company has 475.2 million issued shares

any solid reason for the phenomenal rise from Rs. 130's less than a month ago? Specially as a share that's not known for dividends?

Its highly likely that LOLC group will emerge as the most powerful Corporate entity in Sri Lanka.

Will not rule out their involvement in ECT as well.

I guess we'd have to watch news closely and see the quarterly reports for any significant changes.

I haven’t studied the LOLC group so I also have this question. Seems like future investments and plans. I would like to see a valuation of this company once the latest interim results are out.

Correct. In keeping with the futuristic nature of stock markets, the price movements are based on future investments and plans.
