There are only 3 local manufacturers of lubricants in Sri Lanka. CEYPETCO, LIOC & LLUB. LLUB has 48% market share while LIOC has 17% and CEYPETCO 5%.
With the current issues of shortage of fuel, CEYPETCO market share will go to LLUB and LIOC?
LLUB Has increased its export revenue by 70% for year 2021. The older vehicles need more lubricant needs. LLUB is the market leader in Industrial Oils supplied to factories as well. Their price is competitive even though they increased prices by 23%.
At the the rate which is going is CPC and LIOC has no forex to buy oil and when oil prices are the rising isn't it a negative for it?

LLUB is a price maker just like cables and tile sector, they have the comfort to push prices to the customer and they have been doing this for the past 15 years with no objection. LLUB have their own USD if import is necessary. LLUB exports to Bangladesh and Maldives.

When supply to vehicles get disrupted, will vehicle movement enhance further or decrease further?
More vehicles will come into servicing with the vehicle import ban, demanding higher sales volumes. LLUB not only caters to Motor Vehicle segment, also Industrial Oils and Marine Oils. International Vessels that dock in Sri Lanka use CHEVRON CALTEX of LLUB as Marine Oils.
Lanka IOC has their own Lube so how would LLUB benefit?
LIOC have confirmed they too are facing a USD issue and do not have extra fuel, which means, LLUB with their parent company in USA and Export Income will have an uninterrupted supply
Even though selling prices increase, the COGS increases too. And chevron has competition from Mobil, Total, LIOC etc?
Importers such as Mobil, Total, Toyota have market share less than 4.7% respectively. Some importers such as Mobil, Total are in discussion with LLUB to locally toll blend their oils as importing finished goods are very expensive and selling with lesser margins.
Will Power Cuts / Electricity Disruption benefit LLUB?
Industrial and Residential Generators used will increase in 2022 in hospitals, hotels, factories and homes. Thus lubricants will be having extra revenue in servicing these generators.
Port City industrial infrastructure, any benefit to LLUB?
LLUB QA certification is a qualified supplier for international projects, hence with the USD crisis, LLUB has a higher chance of winning the tender for Port City Infrastructure Development Projects.
How about USD Income ?
