It is highly likely that friendly nations like India, China & Japan etc are awaiting the staff level agreement to be reached with the IMF to enter into bi-lateral loan agreements. What's significant is the offer to assist from China's President himself to Sri Lanka's President. As on earlier occasions it was the Ambassador who conveys messages in relation to assistance.

China's Xi Jinping offers Sri Lanka's new president support amid crisis

In his message, Xi said he believes Sri Lanka will be able to move towards economic and social recovery and he is "ready to provide support and assistance to the best of my ability to President Wickremesinghe and the people of Sri Lanka in their efforts", CCTV reported.

IMO, the staff level agreement with the IMF will be the trigger to witness a bullish trend at the CSE, as this would pave the way for FDIs into Port City and further bi-lateral assistance from friendly nations. In all probabilities a staff level agreement is expected to be reached by 31st August 2022.
