Exterminators net profit increases by 120% in 2Q FY23

ExterminatorsPLC, Sri Lanka’s leading pest management and environmental technology company announced its interim financial results for the second quarter of the FY23 and during 1Q of the FY23 the revenue increased by 58%, gross profit by 50%, operating profit by 67%, profit before tax by 90%, net profit by 120%.

Earnings per share increased by 67% and the net assets per share increased by 29% even during the prevailing crisis.

Exterminators records 48% in capital gains and dividend pay-out of Rs. 31.5m one year after listing

Founded with an initial investment of Rs. 75,000 way back in 1998, today's market capitalisation is over Rs. 470 million and the company also created history by becoming the first pest management company in South Asia and emerging and developing markets to be listed on the stock exchange. During the first nine months of FY22/23, the revenue increased by 37%, the gross profit by 29%, the operating profit by 29%, the profit before tax by 63% and the net profit by 62%. The GP margin is 73%, the NP margin is 27% and the capital gain is 48% as of 28 March 2023. The company's dividend pay-out in 2022 was Rs. 31.5 million, which included a cash dividend of Rs. 14 million and a scrip dividend amounting to Rs. 17.4 million.

Spike in dengue cases across Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Dengue Control Unit said that nearly 1,900 dengue cases were reported last week alone.
55 MOH divisions in 15 districts have been designated as dengue high risk zones.
A recent report issued by the National Dengue Control Unit indicates that these high risk zones include the MOH divisions belonging to Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Hambantota, Galle and Matara districts. In addition to this, some health and medical divisions in Jaffna, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Kegalle and Ratnapura districts are also included in dengue high risk zones.

In 2022, the company created history by becoming the first pest management company in emerging and developing markets to be listed in a stock exchange and repeated history once again by migrating to the ‘Diri Savi Board’ in just eight months upon listing.
