Last bull run led by EXPO, LOLC related company and tile ceramic sector and lately by LIOC. This time it has to be Banks Finance and JKH. IF banks report good earnings this and next quarter , falling interest rates will activate the real bull market. Relaxation of vehicle import will help finance companies by end of the year and casino operation ,tourism, ports all good news yet to come for JKH...and.last of all ...FORTUNE FEVER THE BRAVE.

By buying a single company at dirt cheap when others are selling I got an opportunity to get exposure to banking(one Major shareholder of DFCC,COMB) food,hotels and diversified sector.Apart from their core business, they also do  portfolio management. One thing volatility  cannot be ruled out for any sector.

Melstar is a Star, High taxes and excise duty is a concern.

Infact. It is a hotel. RCH(Renuka Hotel). Liquidity is low. After estimating its real value and seeing rock balance sheet I didn’t hesitate to take  positions gradually  when others are selling. It made a loss during last quarter.  Resuls of June quarter also may be not as good as corresponding period 30/06/22(30.87). However, right now and going forward  they are in a better position thanks to portfolio gain, high interest income and tourism. Who knows we may get another opportunity to buy at low levels.

The stake amounting to 5.48 million shares was done at Rs. 150 each. Overall Aitken Spence saw 6.36 million of its shares change hands via 343 trades for Rs. 950 million. It closed up Rs. 18.25 or 14% to Rs. 148.75. Spence made the biggest contribution (33 points) to the upward movement of the All Share Price Index which shot up by 206 points or 2.3%. The deal also accounted for the highest turnover.

Ubc quarter result shows some positive direction for banks in this quarter.

PABC conformed the earnings for banks and JKH run con..even with poor earnings.
