Dear followers,

The next rally will be Hotels.
Solid fundamentals because of how well tourism is performing.
Maharaja expect hotels to report better and better earnings for the next 2-4 quarters.

Dollar earning sector will outperform the ASPI
Since dollar

is also appreciating silently.

Reasons why hotel sector is heavily attractive

1.) Daily tourist number is rising

2.) Dollar rate is also rising

3.) Heavy marketing campaigns overseas

4.) All airlines started direct routes to SL

5.) Russian, Chinese and Indian markets are coming in big numbers

SL will cross $1 Billion from tourism soon.

During the first six days of August, a total of 30,303 tourists entered the country, solidifying the country’s appeal as a preferred travel destination.

Sri Lanka Tourism achieved a significant milestone yesterday, as it crossed the 800,000 arrivals mark year-to-date, signaling continuous momentum.

Minister Fernando also expressed confidence in achieving the set arrivals target of 2 million by the end of December.

*1 mn tourist not going to make huge changes to the profitability of listed hotels. 2.5 mn may be..
*Most of the tourist are Indians, Chinese and Russians. Their spending power, patterns may not go well with star class listed hotels.
*Most of the European tourist to SL at the moment are solo, Backpackers or you tubers ...they prefer air B&B and Tuck-tuck...nothing to do with listed hotels. That's why some city 5star rooms sells at $60.
*Right now SL is not safe or high end market for rich Europeans or Russians or Chinese...when they think about Asia ..it's Maldives ,Thailand ex...
*SL do have the potential to be a high end market and I am not against Indians,Chinese,Russian ,backpackers or youtubers...SL tourism badly need all of them.

Agree with tiger on some numbers. But;

This sector is like banks. Buying hotels now is like buying banks before DDO. End of Aug. we have 900,000 arrivals. For the year we will have 1.2/1.3 Mn arrivals. Now the season is starting and 2024 will be a strong rebound for the hotel sector. The bigger groups will outperform the smaller ones.

Who is the parent of SHOT, HSIG, STAF ? Who is the parent of EDEN ? Who has hotels in maldives ?
Who holds most no. of rooms in SL? Who will have dollar gains ?

Most important question - Who will have Billions of cash coming from a rights issue ?
