The unconfirmed suspect is supposed to be a Mason bas, who usually does work for them. Seems the intention was robbery and as she was at home and she identified the culprit when he broke in , he had killed her.
This is still unconfirmed. Sri Lanka has still a long way to go with social issues, quality of life.

The process of courts hearing in this country is in snail pace. Cases should be heard as early as possible & the culprit should be punished without delay. Once execution is ordered it should be carried out at earliest time rather keeping the culprits in prisons long period before releasing them under many grounds. If law & order is well placed at highest level the number of murder incidents in this country will substantially dropped. Independence commission for the judiciary system is must in this country to alleviate the unwanted interference from politico henchmen.

Lost a valuable figure to the country at the need of the hour. These type of murders can be eliminated only by uplifting the quality of life of people.Sorry to hear this kind of deaths in Buddhist country like Srilanka.

මෙතන ඇත්තේ සමාජයීය බිඳ වැටීමක් වත් ආගම දහමින් මිනිසා ඈත් වීමක් වත් නොවිය හැක.

මේ සිද්ධියේ විත්තිකරු වී ඇත්තේ ගෙවල් බිඳීමේ දී අද දවසේ ඉතා ප්‍රචලිත වි ඇති ක්‍රමයක් අනුගමනය කළ අයෙකි.
ගෙවල් වල බාස් වැඩ , තීන්ත ගාන වැඩ කිරීමට එන අයගෙන් සියයට ගානක් හොරුන් ය. සමහරවිට ප්‍රධාන බාස් නොදැන ඔහු යටතේ අත් උදවු දීමට එන අය අපරාධ කරුවන් විය හැක.

ඉබි යතුරු දමාගෙන, තාප්ප උස්සාගෙන සිටින ගෙවල් වලට වූවද කිසි අපහසුවකින් තොරව ඇතුල් වී ඔත්තු බැලීමට ඉදිකිරීම් රස්සාව නිසා හැකිවීම මොවුනට වාසි ගෙන දෙයි. සමහර අය අවස්ථාවක් ඇති බව දුටුවිට හා වටිනා දේ දුටු විට සොර සිත පහලවන අයයි. තම නිවසේ ඇති වටිනා දේ හා ඔවුනට පෙනෙන ලෙස පහසු මුදල් පරිහරනය කිරීම් මේ අයට ආකර්ශනයක් ඇති කරන බව තේරුම් ගත යුතුය. ඒ නිසා එවැනි අවස්ථා වැලැක් වීම ගැන නිවැසියන් කල්පනා කල යුතුය.

නිවෙසකට පහසුවෙන් ඇතුල් වීමේ ක්‍රම හා ගෙතුල ඇති වටිනා දේ ගැන ඔත්තුව ලබාගත් පසු බොහෝ විට ගෙයක් බිඳීම සඳහා එන්නේ එම ගෙය පිළිසකර කළ කණ් ඩායමේ අය නොවේ. වෙනත් අයයි. එම හොරු වැඩ කල නිවෙස් බිඳීමට යන්නේ අනිත් කණ් ඩායමේ කිහිප දෙනෙකි.
එලෙස cctv කැමරා හෝ නිවැසියන් ලඟ ඇති තොරතුරු මඟ හැර යාමට ඔවුන්ට හැකි වේ. බොහෝ විට මොවුන් මේ සම් බන්ධකම් ඇතිකර ගන්නෙ හිර ගෙදරදී ය.

ඉතා හොඳ හා ඔබ කාලයක් දන්නා හඳුණන බාසුන්නැහෙලාත් සමග අලුතෙන් වැඩට එන අය අතර මේ සොර කල්ලි වලට සම්බන්ධ එක් අයෙක් හෝ දෙදෙනෙක් සිටිය හැක. (Trojan horse ?)

ගෙවල් වල ආරක්ශාවට ඇති කරන බල්ලන් සමග කුලුපග වීමට මේ ආගන්තුකයන් හට කිසි විටෙක ඉඩදිය යුතු නොවේ. ඔවුන් ගේ ඉව පුරුදු වීම පවා වැලැක්විය හැකිනම් වඩා හොඳයි.

වැඩට ගත් සියලු දෙනා ගේ ඡායාරූප හා විස්තර ඒ ඒ අය වැඩට එන මුල් දිනයේම ලබා ගැනීම නුවනට හුරුය. මෙලෙස විස්තර ලබා ගැනීම එම නිවසේ අපරාධයක් කිරීම සඳහා බියක් හා බාධකයක් ලෙසද ඔවුන්ගෙ සිත්වල ක්‍රියා කරයි.

Three years ago we got one contractor to attend to entire repair and paint works before preparing our vacant house for rent. But after few days, On the day of open house we were astonished to find that all the hinges, brass nails, light switches, wires including at main board, water meter, water taps, celling fans had been removed. I had to spend half a million to re fix those back to normal. After removing the hinges, the doors and windows had been closed with support of brick and stone from inside. The contractor is well known person but not his assistants. As chinwi has suggested we must hold some kind of identification.

Chinwi & Hanoi- Agree with all what you said (except for first sentence of Chinwi) and thanks for timely advice but there is another important aspect to this issue which was highlighted by Daya.

Theft, murder, corruption etc., are bad and should be eliminated from the society at any cost whether they are done by big or small people. Understandably, poor ppl resort to such things owing to socio-economic reasons or addiction to drugs etc. The police take prompt action against them which is commendable but conveniently ignore what influencial ppl do. This inaction of authorities (police and all other authorities) promotes all the evils (in fact makes it a norm) across the society.

I have a feeling that now a days this situation has become a social evil flowing from the top. Hence, the issue need to be tacklled right from the top and not from the bottom.
