Yes. I am also holding FLCH as long term and RICH also (both counters are below 10s). Please study about the market before buy any share.

Suggestion, If you are looking at buying and forgeting for the next 10 years, please look at a business which could survive for that period and give an increase in earnings year on year. If the business has lasted for the last 10 years it would be great. Penny may not fit this but you will be safer.

SEMB, you have to give a real effort to be 1st in the queue to buy and more than that to sell.

For a $ fund, JKH is also a penny (just above 2 $).

I agree with Suja....ten years is a long time and survival is key. Years back Twod was the new kid on the block....GREG was tipped to be the new JKH. look at the situation now. Management is key as well. what you need to look at is history as well. but history too is only one aspect. look at what happend to browns....not the same example but APOLLO hospitals and the SLIC take over through Harry of Apollo. now Harry doesn't have both . so you need to be careful when selecting.

For a long term investment, your selection criteria is really stupid.
You should be looking at the dividend yield & dividend growth rate (last 7-8 years), EPS, EPS growth rate, etc.

I'm collecting penny stocks as an investment for my kids' future---------
1. Can we open a CDS account onbehalf of our kids name? Say age is below 10 years old.
2. If not what is the other option for buying shares for under our kids name.

Well it can be a foolish idea to buy just penny stocks without considering many factors including the potential future growth areas. See SL's infrastructure is going well these days, many constructions (whether needed or not) getting started or in final stages. Tourist attraction may improve, property may rise in these areas, etc..

So I bet on FLCH, VONE, SHL, PLC, REEF.W19 like shares to rise in 2-5 years time. Even as Bond explained, if SEMB can come up with something as an acquisition or interesting, as a penny stock it can give a good value. But the problem with SEMB is its high liquidity. However, still worth holding at least 10K for its cheaper price now.

We live in the world of reversion to the mean when it comes to trading.

that means something stretched too far will snap back.

You will buy penny today for Rs.1.00. after 5 years it will be 5, then after 10 years it will come back to Rs.1.00.

Dont think of holding for 10 years, think of two months or six months, then decide what to do..

Can't understand why you need just penny stocks as a long term investment. I can't recommend any share but as i think RICH, FLCH would be good for ten years period of time.

10% return by 6 months or 12 months ?
If it is 12 months , forget about stock market and invest in a one year FD with a reputed  bank. You will get over 12% , without any risk.

If your plan is,  10% return by 6 months in investing in shares .....I wonder how  you plan like that.
Some times , You might get 10% within a day , and end up losing  50% at the end of 6 months !!!

Current weather condition is ideal for Tea plantations, Tea brokers and Hydropower companies.
Have a closer look on PAP, HPFL, VPEL, CTBL, MAL and ASIY. All are trading less than 6 rupees.

Then FLCH should also be good.

Not all tea plantations getting a good price these days. It is mainly small scale plantations produce high quality LOW-GROWN teas.

I saw some news that plantations managed by KAHA and MAL and some plantations in Uva area getting a record price from buyers.

LOW-GROWN teas are mainly exported to Middle-East countries.

I don’t have any plantation company in my PF but one tea broker which is having a major market share in LOW-GROWN tea segment.

These days tea factories quote premium price to buy green leaves from small scale producers.

Our buyer from Matale buys green leaves at a 15% high price from the price that he bought few weeks earlier. Smile

A return of 10% in 1 year is not quite good. As knockknobbler pointed out, FD is a better, risk free choice.
Why u invest in a stock market is; high risk, high gain... Or above average risk and better than FD returns.

So in 6 months, plan to have 10-20% return is quite good.

But unfortunately, pennies, if not manipulated wont give that much of a return in a shorter period.

Say that u buy ASIY for 3.30 tomorrow, 20% return is when u sell it above 4.0.
But will it rise that much in this dilemma period? I hope so.. Why? we have demand for tea now..

Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd owns 132.6 Mil (82.4%) and controls ASIY. Their avg price @ mandatory offer was Rs. 2.8/-
This company said to have sales of nearly 1.2Ml kgs of tea per week in Colombo Tea Auction. And controls 15.81% of market share in Tea.

ASIY had an EPS of 0.10 and offered a dividend of 38 Cents in 2013. NAV stands at 2.30.
As per the last released financials, only 3,839,612 shares or (1.48%) available on free float as top 20 holds 98.52%.

But one needs to analyse their financials thoroughly for a decision as plantations results are cyclical. Droughts, rains adversely effect the plantations.

I dont think buying pennies like SEMB.X matters. cuz for even the 0.10 gain, u need to waste so much of your time with GTC orders daily.

If you're a warrant lover, CLPL.14 and REEF.19 are good to try when fall. These are also manipulative shares and can gain 20-50% before a 6 month period.
There are risks buying these if you do not plan though.
