Agree with you. Share prices havent appreciated compared to performance. In addition to the other banking sector shares, I am particularly bullish on Commercial Bank as it is trading at a PER (Price to Earnings Ratio) of around 12/-.

traded qty as at 9/16/2011 % increase

seyb x 4,153,800, 3.43%
ntb 15,200 , 0%
comb x 146,400 , 0%

think its fairly obvious with the government institution backing which is more attractive, started to gain momentum based on the trend shown in past few weeks.others may follow if this starts to run.[b]

Many are backing COMB but still its movement has not gone up. I with stood the rights due to the 1 for 14. With the split the price is very liquid so it should go but it cannot break the mark of 118 which is = to 236 before the split. This share should reach at least 140 that is 280 range but it has not.

They expect sampath to do better.

But whats the experts view

COMB can easily break 118 and even go much beyond with the release of its quaterly results or even before that. I also feel if the market conditions are right, it could even touch 140/- in the not too distant future.

To me SEYB X is the most attractive Banking share. Just check and see it's net asset value per share.

Banks are doing well in this conducive environment created by last years budget. In every quarter with improved results, future seems to be very bright for all the banks. All banking shares are very attractive with their future prospectus. there is a huge untapped mkt in the North and East, with the normalcy returns to those areas, ppl tend to deal with banks more and more.

With the Central Bank directive to lower lending rates the Banks could see reduced earnings. Also with credit contraction in the private sector the turnover growth also will be effected. Central Bank could also fix the lending rates like they did with deposits which could result in higher reductions in profits of big banks due to high overheads and personnel costs result in higher PER.
