Day by day market piking up, As I said ASI will touch 6300 before election. Some shares prices up, still this price good to buy. After election ASI will pass 7000 or more a bull run can expected.

Here's my take; Tomorrow the market (CSE) in general and few shares in particular will rise substantially and I will book handsome profits - Tax Free. The consequences of the handouts announced today is positive in the short term but will be evident about one year from now in terms of higher budget deficits, higher inflation and interest rates and pressure on the rupee to depreciate further. People need relief but unfortunately, we can not afford them. Repayment of Debt already borrowed (and spent/invested) from external sources are coming due next year on wards exerting huge pressure on government revenue leaving little left to do anything other than repaying debt. Hopefully, able technocrats in the government/Treasury and the CB have a game plan. I fail to see anyway out without pain in the short and medium term for the general public.

SLs quantum of Debt (approx 85%of GDP) is not huge or un-manageble in relative terms considering the debt levels many other developing countries with fairly high (4-5%) growth rates. However, our Government Tax Revenue is relatively low and deficit high precisely because of handouts, welfare programs and relief given to people as well as weaknesses in appropriate Tax targeting and poor collection of direct Taxes. So how do we solve the Debt issue if we don't have enough revenue or income to service our debt or meet our debt obligations and our stated policy is not to sell state assets proceeds of which can be used to reduce the quantum of outstanding Debt? Again, I fail to see the answer other than keep borrowing more to repay the old Debt. A classic Debt trap scenario. God forbid if the international rating agencies were to downgrade our sovereign debt rating!!

The government must come up with a strategy to tackle the twin evils of Budget Deficit and the Trade Deficit. Easier said than done. Certainly can not be done overnight. This President often talks about the importance of Discipline and rightly so. I'd put fiscal discipline above all other forms of Discipline. We can never be a strong and independent nation without our finances being in order.

I like to hear any contrarian views. I am planning my investments based on the above scenario. Compliments of the Season and Good luck to you all.

When u have a person who "Walk the Talk", There is nothing to fear about the economy. They have modern exposure while living in US unlike MR. So all the good news except very few negatives such as people may not get a 5-star democracy. In a way Full blown democracy is not suitable for developing world..When economy is up and steady, many other issues will desappear... even north / east issues...
