The announcement was made at an event in Colombo recently where Godrej Locks showcased their entire range of safety locking solutions.
Commenting on the initiative, Godrej Locks Executive Vice President and Business Head Shyam Motwani said “We are delighted to tie-up with Abans which has a wide distribution network of around 600 dealers and 350 showrooms. This will help us gain a strong foothold in the rapidly developing Sri Lankan market, build credibility and increase our distribution network.”
He added, “The USD ($)50 million Sri Lankan market has great potential. It is also a neighbouring market and we feel that this close proximity is of advantage to us. It offers opportunities in the retail and institution segment. We are planning to increase business volumes to a level almost three times the size of the current value in year one and almost five times the current size by year five.”
Godrej Locks will embark on a series of new channels and initiatives in Sri Lanka with a focus on influencer and key account management, retailer offers amongst others. A major after sales service plan will also be in effect which features the installation of Key duplication machines at major malls, call centres.
