Is this risky? And how much do I have to pay for a broker to get this facility?

Eventhough its a free of charge service, many broker firms do not give online trading for small portfolios. They ask for atleast 100k, 200k in many cases...

In my firm, they ask for 200k.

Better ask from your adviser regarding this...

Risk is very low using it and you dont need to call and waiting your adviser put buy/sell orders for you Very Happy

You can do it ur self instantly.

Hi swan03,

I'm using DirectFN and my broker is Asha Philips. Normally they give USER ID if you have a portfolio more than Rs 500,000/= and you've to ask for it. I think it also depend on the agent you dealt with. One of my colleauges requested and didn't get it for Rs 150,000/= but another friend of mine has got the USER ID for Rs 100,000/=. As we analyze before we get in to a share, we've to show them our future plan with them. Then they will arrange you an USER ID Wink

There is no special risk as buying through your broker or buying online will have same charges.

But some stockbrokers ask you for a miinimum portfolio value to give you online trading facility. Ask you broker to know yours.

Pissuda banz ... no need to reveal our any plans... They look at our investment size and how we used and settled our credit before. If you have used credits a lot and usually delay to pay back, then they hardly give you for small fortfolios. If you have very decent using credits in past, then adviser recommends for even smaller fortfolios to give online trading facilities.

Thats completely defends upon relationship maintained between you and your adviser in the past.

suppose if you trade stocks worth of 200,000Rs per day in average....
BROKER FEES-0.6400%--1280
SEC FEES-0.0720%--144
CSE FEES-0.0840%--168
CDS-FEES-0.0240%--48
STL-0.3000%--600
total=2,240 per day,
per 20 working days(2240*20)=44,800Rs.........

So its very useful for brokers to give system to their clients and earn money...

NO that was an example only.

Whether you buy through Broker or you buy Online there is specific fee involved for buy and selling. So that does not change .

The above example is to say Brokers benefit if you do above amount of transactions per day . He is Talking about Rs 40 Lakhs of transaction per month to pay that fee.

ANyway, as I said if you do that amount of Transactions whether standard way through Broker or yourself through Online, you pay the same fee depending on the amount you buy and sell.

Hope this clarifies.

Well, I work with LSL, invested only 1,00,000 at the very first beginning. I asked, in written to them to use CDAX, without any questioning or something like that, I got the facility to see my account & to do online trading. At that moment, I knew nothing about market or stock trading.

Risks, really, if u played something silly, there will be no corrections, u'll have to bear the loss. (even with advisors we cant assure they give us the best decisions)

Extra payments - Nill

U dont have to call/wait to the advisor, but emotional decisions take place, when you are the only person involved in the buying/selling, thats entirely up to u.

Rgts!

Not monthly basis, but for every transaction made. (buy/sell) Even without online facility, u have to pay that. That's why we say that, online trading is free of charge.

It's a good way to trade independently with no hassle and no extra cost....No calls no waiting just a click away . However trades executed by mistake you will have to bear the risks figures typed in wrong etc (don't worry executing trades or anything for that matter is very easy) when you have ur broker involved what ever trading mistakes delays etc you can blame them...not like they take you seriosuly either that's a different story....for new comers I would say trade learn the basics before getting in to CDAX...however if you smart and a quick learner then go for it .....

Dear newcomers (than me Smile ),
I have prepared this video for a friend of mine & thought to share with you too.
This is only to get very brief idea about online trading (using web interface), & this is Intentionally made to play high speed to minimize size(So play full screen with pauses)
I'm planning to get DirectFN too, then I'll upload that too...
