Accordingly, Gomes who is a group director at MAS Holdings has teamed up with former Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange and Finance Commission Ajit de S. Jayaratne and Oxford educated wealth manager Arosha Gunasekera towards forming the new company.
Innovest says it is looking to target both the individual and corporate clients to invest in the Colombo Stock Exchange.
Apart from it, the company is also focusing on attracting potential clients to invest in Fixed Income Securities such as Corporate Bonds and Treasury Bills.
According to the company, it has already have identified certain undervalued stocks with high growth potential as well as the most profitable fixed income options available.
“Innovest seeks to insulate client portfolios from significant losses by transferring funds to Fixed Income Securities when prolonged adverse equity market conditions are anticipated”, added a statement issued bythe firm.
The Investments managed by the firm will remain under the name of the client, with HSBC acting as the custodian of the funds.
Innovest says, it has implemented a rigorous portfolio monitoring and risk management process ensuring that all investments are made in a systematic and responsible manner.
The Company also says that it will fully manage client portfolios for a stipulated duration with all its investment decisions taken in consultation with the Investment Committee guided by Ajit Jayaratne.
