May I know honestly how many of you made some money from this market after plus,minus of your profit and losses made, from the time you entered upto now?

After all my losses running into millions. a friend of mine invested all his money (abt 9m) and over traded 100% upto 18m. now he has left nothing. minus balance.

I hardly believe anyone have made any money.

It depends when some one started to invest. It appears your friend friend has invested when the market was at its boom. If someone invested in 2009 & 2010, he/she may still have some profit. I talk about investing not trading.

I got in to JKH @ 177 - 178 at the beginning of March 2012.
reason -
1. Normal price is 190 - 210 range See bloomberg.com
2. Top 10 company
3. Financials Year End - March
( same behavior was there with Carsons Group - I select JKH )
My Target price - 190 within 06 months

Sold @201 - 205 range at the end of March
Sold other loss making counters because of this profit.

Now invested in Financial sector (SFS only) for 06 - 12 months

It’s not the technical, fundamental knowledge but experience in CSE.

I think better to identify seasons in CSE.
Then sectors related to seasons
then top ten , undervalued , future growth companies

( This is not buy sell recommendation - U will have to bear the LOSS or PROFIT as a result of investments)

You must narrow down the counters you trade and concentrate. When there is an unusual drastic drop, never hesitate to enter.

Of cause, I made losses in 2nd half of last year after two good years. This year I am with a positive return.

You can't monitor the entire 250+ stocks. Select few. Have two portfolios. One for investments but strictly on cash. Another trading account, you may utilize about 30% margin.

Most of my returns for 2012 are from two shares that most of the guys believe dud. PCH and GREG.

I am into 3rd run in PCH now and in positive territory when the share passed 7.40, in fact cashed some when it hit 7.80 (the lot I purchased bellow 7/-). For the remaining lot I am not in a hurry.

But JKH, it's a lost opportunity for me.

I am not recommending my shares or patterns. But make some plans and strategies convenient to you and to your objectives. Always do homework for the shares that you select. In the current market you can forgot certain sectors entirely, if you are looking for short term (1-3 months). So it's bit easy.

Most of us made mistakes in last year. Even my loss is more than 6m. But we must learn and adjust. If things happen as in first four months, I can cover my all losses in next six months.
