The controversial share deal between the National Savings Bank (NSB) and The Finance Company (TFC) is to be probed by the Commission to investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption shortly, a senior official of the commission said.

On Friday the Convenor of the ‘Voice Against Corruption’ and President of the JVP-led Inter-Company Employees’ Union Wasantha Samarasinghe submitted a complaint on the issue which will be probed by the commission after the completion of the preliminary procedures, he added.

The commission will take up the matter after going through the list of complaints it has received on difference issues, filed before the NSB-TFC petition he revealed.

Mr. Samarasinghe said that they have asked the commission to probe the scam and punish the NSB chairman Pradeepa Kariyawasam and all the others who were responsible and accountable for the deal. (Bandula)

Good news but my worry is whether the inquiry could be done expeditiously with megre resources available.

If it is not another whitewash then good for future.
All of us know about what happened in the past.

Is bribery commission in Sri Lanka an independent body?
If not, how can we expect an impartial investigation & the outcome.

As indicated above, what will be the time frame to complete this inquiry.

Be careful we need more commissions in future, even for the Bribery commission.(Joke of the month)

What can actually happen

1. People in charge of this particular case from the Bribery Commission will get transferred when they find the culprits.
2. Some may not turn up to the hearings because for example due to a snake bite ( as in the case of mr. Ratharang from Kalutara district)
3. Mr Kariyawasam might be removed but will be made a special adviser to the president or will be the Chairman of another GOVT. institute with higher pay to compensate for trouble he had to go through Smile .
a) In a best or worst case scenario he will be made the presidents adviser on " share market" dealings. (special attention given on checking insider dealings)
b) or/ He would be made the head of the Bribery Commission affraid
4. He might be made an ambassador and sent to a western country.
5. A GOVT university will give him an honorary doctorate to appreciate the yeoman service done so far
6. A high priest will say he is a great buddhist and NSB has achieved great highs because of him.

I guess we are all wasting our time and that includes me cheers
