SEC should also tell greedy HNWI to release breaks.
Till DP has enough SAMP,VONE,LFIN,ABAN...........
NP has enough REG,SINI..
RISHAN has enough PCH,PCP........ it's hard to go forward,BTW all shares above are at attractive levels.

The capital markets watchdog has decided to extend the period for credit, provided by stock brokers to their clients, in order to give the country’s falling stock exchange some life, sources said yesterday.

At a special meeting of the commission members of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and board of directors of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), it was decided to extend the broker credit period from 30 days after the transaction date (T+30) to 120 days (T+120).

The earlier decision, to restrict broker credit, was taken by the SEC to cool-off an overheated market.

The CSE surged after a decades-long conflict ended in May 2009, but soon earned a reputation for being a den of gamblers and manipulators.

The SEC has since commenced a series of investigations into market malpractice, officially warning and fining those found guilty.

The Colombo bourse grew 125.3 percent in 2009 and 96 percent in 2010. Last year, it fell 8.5 percent.

Yesterday, the CSE had fallen 19.79 percent year-to-date.

Some analysts blame the regulator for the market’s dismal performance citing overregulation, but others believe the SEC needs to act tough on market offenders.

Gooooood!

Good way to repeat the cycle.

Earlier, prices were low so that 'Rich' could buy enough at low prices.
Now, the credits are available so that 'poor' can buy at higher prices.

Later, force selling will be in place so that 'Rich' can buy again at low.
Then...........

It proves the theory; CSE shows a cyclic behavior.

Most of the investors/traders need to study the market pattern. Still they are wasting time with gossips.

Seems like some were taken off guard with the news or the insider news receiving parties were not active today. More than that I think there might be a cash liquidity issue as brokers might be tied up with existing credit. Also they cannot buy now as the 6 month rule is there. We badly need some large cash infusions for outside to improve trading to up prices.

Good news is drops are not that drastic anymore ( so far) and share prices seems to have stabilize within a smaller range range when it drops.

Let see Monday we can see some magic. Morning will be green but can it hold up and cross ASI 4900 with large volume?

Most of last few days market could have easily been green,JKH going down from 190 day day buy around 1-2 ruppees causing index red.But not much.Other shares are holding firmly except for odd trades to drag price down.

I think this will boost the market a bit but temporarily. I don’t think this will attract long term investments in CSE until some positive news come globally.

The first quarter results are going to be released. I think the policy changes brought in by Central Bank from February onwards will be reflected in the June Quarter results. The market should adjust to a new level after this. Adding to above the adverse weather conditions going to affect the results of agricultural sector badly and the hydro power sector. Further the inefficiency of our Government adding more burden. When the oil prices come down in the world market the benefits not passed down. This increases the wage cost, triggers inflation, cost of everything goes up. We lose competitiveness in the world market. Turnover grows but margins squeezed, finally net is a loss.

any way let wait till tomorrow

Maybe we can identify strong companies with good management strategies during difficult times when results are released ? Maybe a hint on future blue chips?
