Who ever wanted SEC head out would be happy now. Right or wrong is another issue, but to prove their point if they cannot make the market up for a few days now it will be a sad situation .

Lets say market goes up tomorrow . Will / can it continue for atleast a week is a question?

What if the president wait for a week to see what is happening in the market before he make his final decision ;-) . Maybe the president now has the toughest deicsion to make. Accept the letter or not to accept.

@slstock: you have highlighted a very important point, I hope it will happen. I surely won't hesitate to take a short-term gain if this happens. Thanks for sharing Smile

@redbulls: 100% agreed, it will correct itself eventually. The important question is, if what slstock hinted at happens, will the market correct back to the original bear trend? or will it correct back to represent the intrinsic values of the fundamental stocks? My bet is on the former, so I'll be taking short-term profits. But if it goes the other way.... I'll be sorry... Sad

So, let's wait and see what happens tomorrow. HNWIs: over to you now, make the market go up and justify your claims... Basketball

My opinion and this is what i have gathered,

Everyone talks about the amount of foreign participation despite the problems in SEC/CSE. But who knows how much money / foreigners have avoided CSE due to its problems?? I think more money could have come in if not for political/manipulator interference and SEC saga.

When you have top (newly born) investors behind bars, there is a likely possibility of politicians being dragged into the net as well. This wont serve well for the government. This is what i feel. Hence pressure on Thilak.

Mr. Thilak did a good job but he should have taken quick sudden actions instead of showing the manipulators whats inside their gift box! Good luck for his future.

To prop up the market and to maintain SEC credibility and confidence, a better impartial person needs top be appointed. This guy must go ahead with a different approach.

The ones who think they have escaped since Thilak has left, will get caught one day down the line, even decade or 2 later. Someone might dig this out again and at that time lanka maybe a totally different place and these guys and their business survival will not be so important.

this is a lesson for all. SEC and the so called mafia now know what their limits are and will have to play in a specific track rather than going out of the way.

People will forget and market will pick up again someday! New stories will appear, new money will appear and new scenes created! Market will move up! If market can pick up from 380 pts to 3000 pts between 2002 and 2007 during war times, then there is no reason it will fall and keep crumbling further.

Whether we like or not the capitalist system always has a never ending fight with each other. CSE is one of the main platforms of the capitalist society. Why should it be free with the inherent attributes of the capitalist society?

We better stop postmortem and look for the future and find a minimum reason to unite together.

Outspoken people always good but there is a responsibility of a Government officer towards the society when they make any comments on the activities under his purview, especially on undecided cases.
