In line with this year’s theme “The Leap Forward,” UA honoured 400 of its top performers, which was an increase of 100 numbers from the previous year. These sales professionals met stringent sales requirements along with service standards, to reach the pinnacle of their profession.
Rukman Weeraratne, General Manager of Marketing and Distribution said it was extremely encouraging to bear witness to the increasing numbers of top performers annually. With the company’s General and Life insurance growing by 16% and 29% respectively in 2011, it is the dedicated professionalism that ultimately sees UA reaching out to the public as the most trusted insurer.
Speaking at the event Dirk Pereira – Chief Executive Office, Union Assurance said “Congratulations to all of you for completing another successful year marked by stability and growth. Today is not only about celebrating those who are rewarded, but also about celebrating each and every one of you for your commitment and dedication without which, today would have not been possible.”
Top award winners of the night were ‘Champion of Champions Life’ Chanaka Appuhami of the Chillaw Branch and ‘Champion of Champions General’ Eric Upashantha of the Corporate Unit. Awards of Excellence helped distinguish persons whose success and achievements encouraged others to emulate and follow

It also has one of the largest life funds in the industry amounts to Rs. 14.7 billion.
