In the past, I bundle up all the glossy and prize winning Annual Reports and give it to the Old Newspaper man periodically. Now I have heaps of CDs. What do I do with them? If they were re-writable, something could have been done with them. I would be interested to know how our other forum members handle this problem.

I am disappointed that none of the 100 viewers has told us about how they handle this problem

No answer means no answer.

I get 100s of CDs, never use them.
I think they should amend the rule again. Technology is changing fast.

If someone has the facility to use CDs he can have broadband link to get the reports to his computer without stockpiling CDs. .
Whenever I want to refer a report I just click and get the report from CSE site.

What's de use of those old CDs? Probably those might not be working too..

I give it to my kids to play.. so they scratch it.. then just throw them to the garbage bin..

They changed to CDs to save cost of printing and postage fees, and to save,environment. But accumulation of CD s are more harmful to environment as they are not degradable. Qs chinwi suggested, downloadable copy would be enough for most of us.

A better suggesion:

1. CSE to insist on providing e-mail address of all the shareholders through brokers.

2. Send the AR to the mail address

3. Send all the company specific declarations (Div. / Scrip / Rights / Change of Director / Split etc) to the shareholders through e-mail.

This can be a better green initiative to save environment and cut costs significantly.

Ofcourse there is the issue that there will be non tech shareholders. So there should clearly be options for upon request
a) Printed versions
b) Downloads off web
c) CD if requested

It is much cheaper for them to produce the CD version than printed. Ofcouse download is almost no cost.

Glad to receive so many responses.

I also like the idea of sending the AR through email or to give download links. Hopefully, somebody at the CSE will pick up this discussion

the thing is in past few period (after the had been ended) many of rural people joined cse . but they dont have pcs laptops some even dont have the knowledge of computer.bu they can handle english . so we must think of them also. the best way is by e mail . the share holder should reply if the AR has received within a particular period. if a reply has not received they should be posted AR imagining that they dont have the facility to view e-mails
