I recently bought some shares from HVA Food. But still don't see any growth. Any advice?

I hope you may have bought them around Rs. 20, if you bought them recently as you say. This actually shot up on the first day of trading even touching Rs. 29. That was not too long back. In fact the avg price on its first day of trading was above Rs. 25 with a heavy turnover.

Pepole get carried away with the name " food" and comparing with other well doing Food and Beverages Compnies. HVA Foods only business is tea exports, Bulk and Value added. the past track record doesnt seems good, but things may change in future.

The company doesnt have any core competency in my view which they should build to compete with the 470 odd registered Tea Exporters.I take this view comparing to what Lipton and Dilmah has built in their Brand Name. Its not in the top 15 tea exporters list. compared to the famous names Stassen, Akbar,Dilmah,Imperial .. . In local market Zesta ( Watawala) ,Mlesna are familiar names, but after the IPO only we got familiarised with "Heladiv" HVA brand. this creates serious doubts over the effectiveness of Markeing and Sales team. The margins in Tea Export Companies are narrow. Hope that this will change in comming days as for PCH.

We have to wait and see what changes the Company is gonig to make. In its Management and Startegy.
