The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce issuing a statement yesterday urged the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary to act with caution in the national interest in order to help the country realise its economic development goals.
"The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has been closely following the current impeachment process relating to the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka.
"The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce strongly believes that mutual respect and trust between the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary, and the Rule of Law are essential prerequisites that are crucial for rapid economic development and for the achievement of development targets that we have set upon ourselves to achieve. Therefore, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce urges all three organs of the State to act with care and caution to ensure that the comity between the organs of State is maintained at all times, in the National interest," the chamber said.
