ASI will move up and it will reach 6000 in January 2013. Is there anyone to challenge my forecast based on gut feelings.

Bet would be a bottle of Cristal Brut 1990 “Methuselah”, I have an imported one, but you give me money equivalent if I win.

In Sri Lanka’s point of view exports declined MOM for all of 2012. Internal consumption hasn’t moved markedly higher to counter the declining exports, pointing to a very low nominal growth. Add that to the devastating draught that baked the country during mid 2012 and submerged it during end of 2012. Major conglomerates won’t show any real growth expect for in couple of sectors.
In external standpoint, clouds are gathering for another tumultuous quarter. Congress is gearing up for a drawn out battle with the Whitehouse over the debt ceiling. That would pull the world markets down this quarter. Add the ugly incident with the Judiciary in Sri Lanka and the local and foreign responses in the coming weeks. Too many shocks for too little cushioning
So no, none of the indicators point to any significant forward movement in the Colombo exchange. In fact market might shed several hundred points going into mid quarter.

Majority of investors do not think govt is week or strong at present

Therefore political reasons will not effect Stock market this month

there is a possibility for slight upward trend during this month due to other reasons

At least we have couple of members who says direct opinions on the mkt and individual shares.

Yes or No answers are very rare in Share mkts. Analysts use to say "it depends" like economists. lol.......

But if some thing goes wrong your name is at a vulnerable position. So you will learn in future that the best thing is to be a economist..........." It Depends " No direct answer. But real experts will always have a direct answer. In this case i dont know ?

It is easy to point the finger after some body goes wrong. but difficult part is to predict it. So it is better others to answer the topic.

Hey one of my relations is attached to CBSL and therefore I have access to first hand information on policy rates, so I know the direction putha, even I could foresee by GUT feeling.

Lets see what will happen to Banking and Financial sector soon,

Dont step now coz I want step before you take steps.

I do not believe Technical Analysis in this market

TA can be applied if the behavior of customers is rational It can apply only when Majority is' Economic Men' Our market it is not so

Earlier we had ppl who analyse the market thru crystal balls...
Then came ppl who predicted stock behaviors using pattern analysis.
suddenly emerged a fella who did seek his monkey's advice to buy stocks..
After sometime we saw seeni bola Sanju with dennam magic and he still out there after wasting his fortune Wink

OK the new breed seems to be "gut feeling" analysis guys...

So the next generation will do "testicle analysis"

Should anyone invest in a market like this
