As per reliable info their plan is to complete it within this year and then go to Kalpitiya in grand scale with the collaboration of international hotel chain / tour operator.

Something's cooking in these shares most possibly.

They published reports in past two quarters. But they don't have to, as they are in Dirisavi board.

Now what does that mean?

Yes................
What ever said and done this Dilitha fellow looks a good long term investor.
VFIN is one of my favorite value stock he has invested a lot in it. CLND also.

There Reef Waskaduwa and Kalpitiya seems good since the top investors have not divests shares So far. They are waiting till value is created.

Chinwi.

Waskaduwa - Rs 12.50
Kalpitiya - Rs 17.50

When compare with IPO prices, Kalpitiya looks good. but they will built Waskaduwa first ?

What is the best option out of these two. I know if a rally starts both will shine at once.................Also In waskaduwa we have very small No. of shares with other SH apart from Top 20..........

If Waskaduwa becomes operational, REEF will start moving along with CITW, but in that case my bet is REEF W.19 for highest % gain and will become a multibagger in no time if we buy at current prices

@ Arena,

I can only tell you what I did.

Actually I had some WAS few months ago and it was trading higher than KAL. I sold all WAS and bought KAL at lower prices.
Now WAS is also at low I am buying few quantities again.- After I got latest news.

BTW, I think Waskaduwa should perform before Kalpitiya .(If we get foreign link news for KAL and/or CLND effect activated, this may go otherways)

Quantity of my KAL and R19 has reached top limit for any share , hence I do not buy now. ( normally I do not allocate above 10 - 12% for a single share in the portfolio)
I break this rule when I get sound reasons , like with CFVF in 2009 , xxxx in 2013.

xxxx - no one is interested about this power sector share which has reported losses for last 2-3 qtrs due to drought and a very specific reason.

@ Wildbear

I accept ur point but when its come to W there is a huge risk. This can go to Rs/ 1 at any time and if u ar with credits that is the end.................But i like this Reef W also may be 10%.

Tks Chinwi.

I got ur point.
VONE effect , CLND efffect , Foreign agreement, all these are separated and it want be bad if we go for Reef which has a higher Net assets as well. All these 3 will perform together. I will go with small Reef W lot and WAS...............In ur 10% rule it would be better if u take this group as one share since All has one main name attached. Hope this is an extreme case for u as mentioned.

I think mkt will further discount Reef w . WAS and KAL if the big man sleeps like this.

Fall in value of CER (Certified Emission Reductions)

Few years ago XXXX obtained selling rights for carbon credits it generate from green energy and their accumulated value was over 45 million Rupees at the rate of 20 Euro per unit. At that time CER unit was trading at lucrative 20 Euro in international carbon market.
Hence they included this value as an unrealized profit in their books, increasing their asset value. Unfortunately they did not sell and cash them anticipating further value addition.

After 2010 there was an oversupply of CER in the world market and the unit value dropped drastically. In 2010 it fell to 12 Euros and in December 2012 the price was mere 15 Cents per Unit, that means almost nothing. ( http://www.barchart.com/chart.php?sym=CQZ12&t=BAR&size=M&v=2&g=1&txtDate=01%2F01%2F2013&p=WN&d=X&qb=1&style=technical&template= )

Due to this unexpected fall in value of CER in the world market, xxxx had to erase the 45 million profit they show in their books.

They did it in part by charging few millions in each quarter. During first 2 quarters of 2012 they charged about 5 million and in the last quarter (13/12/2012) they had to charge another 13 million as the carbon prices fell drastically.

Now they have to erase just 4 million from the books to escape entirely from this shadow of lost fortune.

Due to this reasons XXXX was appearing as a loss making or non performing company for last few quarters and the trading value has come down to X.XX rupees from XX/- in 2011 although its net asset value is remaining at Rs.X.XX.

Actually XXXX is not a loss making company and it has generated enough electricity even in the severe drought to run the business and collect some revenue to keep the cash flow. They have enough capital for proposed new developments. With the addition of new power houses in 2013/14 it should generate considerable revenue during coming wet years.
