To be frank this wage issue was over blown and I think march quarter is going to be good for most of them. June or Dec might be an issue due to wage issue accounting.

If tea price hold and rubber increase diversified plantation might survive well in the medium term.

For 2 years nearly we did nto have a proper plantation run. So where is this elusive mini run ?

Note heavily tea oriented and labor heavy plantations might take a bigger hit in June accounting.

So one needs to be careful.

Wage hike is always an issue with plantations, It comes to action time to time. This is an another period that plantation has to deal with wage hike issue. For retailers this is not a good time to enter. KGAL may be the best option at the moment but its better to wait sometime and would be able to buy KGAL around 100

This is a wrong/misleading observation. Plantations only produced 12M turnover from the total turnover of 885M. Just around 1% of the total turnover.

More significantly sector index is down by 1.14% today, producing the biggest drop from all sectors. I think investors are overlooking plantations for the moment.

Sector index may recover only if certain companies declare good dividends or a run started with speculative plantations. For me 2nd option is more likely.

market is ignoring plantations. other than the moderate demand for tea, there is no valid reason to buy plantations.
