PARQ was doing well, actually they minimize their losses for the last few quarters. But for me it was not enough to get i to this share. With the new changes in the management we'll see. And also there is a research report on this by one of our members.Read that as well.

Don't you think PARQ parent LWL is more attractive? Under its NAV and it also has TILE under the belt.

Last year EPs Rs 13 but this year has some trouble. But should do well under RCL ( as LWL is the only wall tile manufacturer).

Once this went to over Rs 180+ now at Rs 72. Dividend in June or July ( if they follow old format)

I believe there is future prospects in PARQ as their losses are decreasing and with the new management there will be a turnaround. For me present price around Rs 15/- per share is okay. I am waiting for the financial accounts as per 31-3-2013.
LWL share price around Rs 73/- is too much for me to afford. Besides in the past year as per the Managing Director's Report where the breakdown of Group turnover and profits are given the main contributor to profits out of all the segments has been from floor tiles. In previous occasions TILE has given dividends twice a year interim and 2nd interim. Therefore if you compare LWL and TILE, for me TILE is more attractive.

Both Tile and LWL good. But if you study history you will notice which one is stronger and worth more ;-)

Shorter term TILe will lead LWL but longert term it will be opposite.

TILE should declare a dividend soon. Afterward LWL ( if they go by past practice)

With this new management TILE,LWL,HOPL AND PARQ should perform better. But I think under previous management PARQ did not perform to it's full potential so with perera's proven track record this company should reach to new level and IF this happen capital gain from this share should be bigger than other three.(may be it's just another gut feeling)

In this market there will be overlooked, Profitable investment Opportunities. Sooner than later unfavourable industries will become favourable industries. So we have to have some idea of bigger picture and mega trends relevant to each and every county and each region. Asian region will create more demand for consumer staples in the coming years and coming two decades. Regional trade and travel will increase in Asia in the coming years?  What are the mega trends in Sri-Lanka, Kenya, India, Vietnam and Bangladesh? Which companies are going to benefit most in the coming years and in which sectors? Do they have plans to expand their markets including export market and reduce costs in the future? Are they going to have demand for their products and services in the coming years? Are there emerging companies in each sector? Are there emerging commodities? CelticTiger has found a hidden company. We also should try to find companies like this.Today Manufacturing and plantations stocks are having some active trading. Any stock can become suddenly active.

thanks for the comment VALUEPICK.
as you said, after long time in CSE we can see some active trading in Manufacturing. TYER ,TKYO and ACL came to the stage.
when it's come to plantations, future of tea looks bright as you mentioned few times in this forum and new trend of RPC'S of signing joint ventures with foreign parties argued well in this regard.ex. ELPL ,BOPL and WATA. but most of the plantations include gain on change in fair of biological assets which complicate the real EPS of a share .what do you think of it .

We need to study this. Every industry has risk and returns. It is same even for tech stocks. One thing is clear. Global consumers are not going to stop drinking tea. What about increased population in Asia, North Africa. They are tea drinkers. This region is going to create demand for all types of food and beverages including meat. They will have market within the region as well. We should not forget these plantations have fixed assets such as land and tree too. We have to wait and see how some of plantation companies are going to introduce some energy efficiency methods? Those tea companies having more synergy with Europe and North America will have edge over others in the coming years and decade. Tea is one of the emerging commodities in the world. Tea is not harmful as other drinks in the market and it is a healthy drink. Finally number one undervalued group in the CSE.

We should identify at least one company from manufacturing sector too. What is the bigger picture in frontier markets? What is the bigger picture in Sri-Lanka? Can hotels run without electricity, telephones, transportation, music, all types of food such as fish, beef, lamb, egg, chicken, vegetables and fruits etc? How do they going to build new hotels? Which companies will have opportunity to increase their capacity in the coming quarters and years? In over 2 million annual tourists numbers which companies and sectors are going to benefit most? Even demand for tea from hotels will go up. Tourists love Ceylon (Sri-Lankan) Tea. In a mega trend few manufacturing companies could have demand for their products at least until they build hotels and infrastructure.
