You might apply for many thousand shares and get only a few thousands, blocking your money..

If you want to invest the money for steady growth, there are plenty of shares in the market to buy, considered safe and sound!

Cheers!

Take this good advice from Rapa.

I never invest in IPOs because too risky and opportunity cost with tied up money.

But I think GMnet is joking..

Please let me know whether it is a good investment?

Your mothers' EPF and wife's dowry indicate the level of risk as against return. If I asked the question whether I should invest this money on Treasury Bills, no one would contest my decision. If I said I wanted to invest in Golden Key, everybody would have said no. What I want to know is how safe my investment In Anilaana on 1-10 scale. Its a serious and pertinent question irrespective of the source of funds.

How about your sister's EPF, your bosses dowry and your aunty's boyfriend's ETF? What would that do to your risk?

I think u got very encouraging answers from our members Wink Seriously, u were the one who posted the following post.. U still have doubts on Anilana?

http://forum.srilankaequity.com/t29096p25-anilana-lands-have-been-revalued-by-massive-rs-2-billion-prior-to-the-ipo#171209

GMNet wrote:If EPF can invest in stocks like Galadari, Lughf Gas etc.. What is wrong my investing my mothers EPF savings in same kind of shares???

EPF's time frame is long term.. And it should be more than 6 years.. These funds cannot take money out and let the market down either so if their shares go up, they cannot book profits instantly.. There are criticism among members of their selected lists but I cannot say the choice is too bad but they got into some counters when the market was overheated.. Surely they'd have thought before doing so.. Then again, its money to burn for them (public money) so being considered a higher time frame, there's a chance that their decision can go correct too Wink.. See we dont create policies, we're not the governing party and we dont what's in their sleeves either.. So we bet on a favorable condition when we invest on future prospects Cool

If u really want to invest, there's much more worthy counters than Anilana.. See even bare lands in Kalpity is worth at this level due to fair valuations done.. Anilana's land valuation was a dream one imo.. How on earth land prices went up 40-70% in post-war era?

So its up to u do decide on Anemanda..
