Guys any one know the portfolio that JB has invested in. Basically which companies. Strange that they have apperantly sold their stake in SDB? If you have the current portfolio that they have invested please let me know.

They were in PCH, HOPL and ECL. Hope at least now they've exit from PCH.

They are in big time with CDB.X over 1M shares. I think they have considerable stake in COCO too.

They have a big stake in CSD - CSD is a great share

SLstock, apperantly in may this year. I was doing some research on this and found through normal route can not say anything more. Please call the company they might tell you.Strange they have sold this as BV is Rs.130 per share. Equity to asset is at 7-8 highest amongst any bank???

NAV is now 149.

Check your sources again Suja. in May there was no block sales of 600000 shares and the highest trading was on May 16 and only 290000

Not in a position to call now. I will try to take your word.

Only option is they sold in market the whole month of may. Yes this is mystery why with a dividend of Rs 5 in early june.

I have a friend at a senior position at SDB he said JB sold off their shares within past 1 1/2 months or so. According to him there were in for trading with this share and not for investing purposes.

I am not trying to influence your decision to hold or sell but Cocoshell is not only one who can do valuation to note a bargain.
Also sometimes they might have needs to release funds to buy something else.

All am saying is we don;t haveto blindly follow them. Except for the 14% gold portfolio I do not see any big issue with the company at these prices ( but am worried about right issues in this kind of market as I explained in another thread.) But SDB does not seem to have a immediate need ??? Value shares will not be recognized always in these kind of markets. When the bull arrives it can be different.

Got in to this to collect but currently have very little and then got to know the bomb about JB so dont know about the rights issue that you have mentioned can you let me know please.

I was not clear. I was talking about general right issues . Not specifially for SDB. I don;t see an urgent need for them for a right issue. Also if they need , they can go for Debentures which seems to be hot now

Rainmaker, It matters a lot if you check the shareholderlist you will realize this. They have teams doing research on these shares sometimes we are better than them in analysing and sometimes their better, nothing lost in studying them as they are good. Also dont forget some of these people are market movers.

The other reason is funds buy in bulk and our task is to move in before most of the funds get activated. When they buy bulk the demand and supply changes to more demand and less supply for small players. You know then what happens. Good example is the so called liquid JKH it is not that liquid if you really analyse it.

Suja, just rememebr :

This is in general ( not SDB only)

This kind of a market has inefficiencies.
What is Rs xx and has no buyers now might have big buyers when it gets to Rs xx + yy ( due to quantity and momentum). In this market only small and medium times see quantity to collect.

Also when groups start moving , some share can auto move to adjust to their true worth.
