This is also an increase compared to 8.6% of inflation recorded during the month of March this year.
The average annual inflation figure too has moved up to 6.6% in April compared to 6.2% remained during the month of March.
Meanwhile in an earlier occasion the Central Bank said that the country’s inflation is expected to see an upward trend during the festive month of April.
The Bank also said this would be owing to the festive demand and the base impact.
